what do folks do for wifi these days? it works well for me with networkmanager and kde but raw iwd seems to keep triggering scan errors in the driver in dmesg and not working right
<tpw_rules>
seems to have been triggered by the iwd 3 upgrade
<tpw_rules>
is wpa_supplicant cool again? does my network suck? what does networkmanager do? all under nixos to be clear on m1 max

tpw_rules: networkmanager is basically a frontend into all the different linux networking backends and makes life very easy (unless youre trying to set up a connection to an ikev2 vpn dont ask)
<chadmed>
iwd works mostly fine here, im inclined to think 99% of wifi issues these days are caused by brcmfmac just being a steaming pile
<chadmed>
wpa_supplicant might be more stable in some scenarios from what i hear but i havent had enough issues to bother switching back

chadmed: so networkmanager uses the same interface that iwd uses rather than e.g. iwd itself?
<tpw_rules>
also re the pile, the problem is the pile-ness recently increased substantially. i can rarely connect to my home network with iwd now
