yeah, i can reliably crash the tbt co-processor if I enable debug prints inside thunderbolt otherwise

FWIW, in that case shipping "kinda broken" TBT support isn't out of the question. as long as it doesn't do anything bad if you don't actively use it, and doesn't crash the whole system, and generally works for a subset of use cases, that's better than nothing at all (and we can ship it, specifically, as alpha/early/some bugs expected)
