<marcan> eiln: so as far as I'm concerned we're in a good spot to merge webcam and push out some asahi-dev builds and see how it goes on all the other platforms/machines
<marcan> is there anything else you want to change before I go ahead and pull it?
<janneg> marcan: t8112 has a different register layout, offset between ISP_MBOX_IRQ_INTERRUPT and ISP_MBOX_IRQ_DOORBELL is 0x430 instead of 0x3f0 so we'll need another reg/resource in the devicetree
<janneg> not yet working, I get an piodma irq error at the point where it should start
<janneg> wasn't working on t6001 either. I haven't looked at it, was a test to see what the tracer is supposed to output
<janneg> for m1n1 we want https://paste.centos.org/view/faa37f06 squashed into lina's changes

<janneg> looks like I have to patch fedora's chromium spec to get rid of the bti issues. compare https://www.reddit.com/r/AsahiLinux/comments/16u9fnb/chromium_crashes_with_sigill_on_asahi_fedora_39/

<eiln> marcan: sigh. why is the isp this uncooperative
<eiln> MLVNR just won't die. it's 248 (J413AP 720p) with SCL1, but 248 only has one camera config. either we bring back the platform_id hack or I RE and port ANE-ISP IPC (probably even more platform problems).
<eiln> jannau: t6001 should work though. do you have a trace?
<janneg> eiln: no linux traces on t6001 (12.3), I just ran it quickly to check what the tracer is supposed to output. I'll grab traces later if nobody beats me to it

<janneg> chromium build takes a while: 37100/41210 and the studio's case is warm. nvme reports 64ºC
<janneg> sigh, that was just the headless renderer, now compiling chrome with 57239 build targets
<janneg> seems to either reuse object files or some caching

<lina> eiln: But it says MLVNR disabled in that log and it's not dying the same way?
<lina> janneg: Do you want me to look at M2 tomorrow? I'm going to be tying loose ends on the camera stuff (Apparently I have an ffmpeg patch to write to make vertical video work... It turns out supporting strides needs a big refactor of the v4l2 avdevice...)
<lina> I hope gstreamer and libcamera don't have that problem...
<lina> eiln: Also Apple says j413 is 1080p, only j493 should be 720p ^^
<janneg> lina: I might look at it tonight and push everything to https://github.com/jannau/linux/tree/isp/t8112
<lina> j493 is my streaming machine so... I don't think I'm going to be streaming that... but I can probably borrow marcan's j413 and make sure it works there. It kind of sounds like that PIODMA thing is something else?
<janneg> but we will still need someone to look at j413/j415
<lina> I'll look at 413 then, and I think 415 should be identical (just different platform ID but hopefully nothing that affects us)
<lina> And yeah that m1n1 bug with the bad condition... I knew about that and totally forgot to fix it ^^;;
<janneg> yes, I would expect j415 to be identical. seems to be very much just a larger j415
<janneg> I'm not sure if we might need to remap for t8112 as well. the field in segment descriptor is set with 0xf_0000_0000 or-ed
<lina> I think it might need that
<lina> Wasn't DCP like that too?

<janneg> eiln: t6001-isp works, mixed driver / application issue. it was simply trying to queue more than 16 buffers and the 17-th buffer timed out. fixed enforcing [2, 16] buffers in queue_setup()

<leio> where does asahi-installer take the stage1 m1n1 from? I see it os.path.join'ing boot/ in front of what's in installer_data.json, but I can't find a boot/m1n1.bin in any of the fedora/alarm zips
<ChaosPrincess> leio: included in installer package, gets extracted to /tmp/asahi-install/boot/m1n1.bin
<leio> where in the installer package? For context, I'm building my own zip for a first stab of a gentoo installer
<leio> oh, the installer python stuff itself you mean?
<janneg> yes
<leio> I see, thanks
<janneg> what asahi-insttaller builds, it uses m1n1 as submodule
<leio> then I'll let it use the non-patched one afterall and just replace it later in 1TR if needed
flom84 has quit [Quit: Leaving]
<janneg> note that you need to build m1n1 with rust/chainloading for stage1
<leio> yup, thanks, I have that going good now in the fedora install now
<leio> doing the proxy fallback to get around the u-boot crash :)
<leio> proxy timeout*

<janneg> I'm going to assume that 0x23b704000 (fw 12.4) and 0x9587146752 (fw 13.5) are identical but it beats me why anyone would want tot print PMU base as decimal
<eiln> lina: 16 looks like count in BUFFER_POOL_CONFIG_SET
<eiln> > ISPASC: PMU base is 0x9587146752
<eiln> > ISPASC: CH = 0x16384, CMD = 0x0011 [CISP_CMD_SET_ISP_PMU_BASE], receive at 105531.734 ms, delta: 1.0234 ms.
<eiln> even better, CH print overflows for non-CH ioctls. I am surely on the 91012th sensor.
<janneg> eiln: already used a common define for the buffer count: https://github.com/jannau/linux/commit/ff6bed0bba9ebb8fdc1d56601d179979a76a3eca
<janneg> eiln: I think 0x9587146752 is just a printf bug. 9587146752 == 0x23b704000

<eiln> I just realized the m2 macbook air is 1080p but the pro regressed to 720p. that is weird
<ChaosPrincess> m2 mba uses the new "14 inch mbp but 13" chassis, while m2 mbp is re-using the m1 chassis
<eiln> ah
<ChaosPrincess> yea, its a weird machine
