<janneg>
marcan: can you look into taking kernel fixes and prepare a new tag/release?
<janneg>
at least the touchbar suspend fix and the bluetooth fixes but taking other pull requests would make dealing with devicetree changes a little less annoying
<janneg>
laso we could remove the expert mode flag from the 15-inch air. it's just a larger 13-inch
<janneg>
alarm builds are to old but barred due to the 13.x requirement, should work without issue with fedora
<janneg>
I wouldn't complain if we can merge the m1n1 m2* dptx support before linux

eiln: any objections to pulling in lina's branch? you still get to rebase/send me PRs as you see fit of course, just as a starting point
<marcan>
isp is going to be the last branch to be merged (numerically), so if you ever want to rebase/edit history the easiest way is to walk back from an arbitrary tag/asahi-wip to before the merge commit for it (will be the last), rebase on top of that point, make whatever changes and test, then once you're happy rebase on top of `base` and send it to me as a new bits branch.
<marcan>
or if you're just adding commits, just test them on top of whatever tag and once happy cherry-pick them into the bits branch, and send me a PR for that
<marcan>
you can also just have fixup commits as part of that and they will get squashed next time I do a kernel rebase, so you don't have to rebase yourself unless you want to
<marcan>
(just throwing commits at me in a random branch is fine too, whatever works, I'm not picky as long as I know what to do with them)

sven: works in macOS on the same system
<jonmasters>
sven: I'll be curious to know which enclosure you're using
<sven>
I don’t have any enclosure, I have a old thunderbolt 2 display with an adapter inbetween, a half-broken thunderbolt 3 dock, a tbt2 network adapter with another adapter and a usb4 hub
<sven>
I’d try what janneg suggested, that branch is still missing the tie between the tipd chip to set the correct cable and tbt mode inside the nhi
<jonmasters>
yea, will try
<jonmasters>
also btw if you would like an enclosure sometime, I'd be happy to sponsor one

<jonmasters>
sometimes it sees the enclosure, but the link continuously resets
<jonmasters>
fan in the enclosure keeps spinning up and down too
<jonmasters>
I'll look some more later, just figured I'd share this FYI
<sven>
huh
<sven>
ive never seen that before
<sven>
i was about to say I don’t think a pcie enclosure would be any different than the devices I have but maybe that specific one would actually be useful :D
<jonmasters>
...want one? :)
<sven>
you could try to play with different combinations for that VSE cable info thing. maybe remove the legacy bit? but this sounds more weird
<jonmasters>
I can just send you a $300 Amazon gift card and you can order one if you like
<sven>
Let me check if I can even buy it in .de
<jonmasters>
if it'll actually be useful
<jonmasters>
k
<sven>
maybe first try to remove that legacy flag, if that doesn’t work something more weird is going on
<jonmasters>
ok, will try a bit later
<jonmasters>
(playing between meetings :) )
<sven>
sounds similar to how I sometimes work on this :D
<jonmasters>
:)
<jonmasters>
well, I had 8 minutes between meetings so just trying again :)
<jonmasters>
removed the legacy bit, it's resetting in a loop again
<jonmasters>
oh, link seems to stay up a bit longer
