I read in a german article that there is a tool for controlling the power states of the mac in macos whose pro-version (katschink - sound of old cash register) is able to control the led of the mag-safe plug. Sounds for me interesting to have control over it:
<psykose>
i could hear the katschink

At the latest, if you have a charge limit and the thing no longer turns green anyway, you could use that either for the charge limit or as a status light.

Hey, I'm having a weird issue with using setuid() on Asahi Linux. Here is a paste https://bpa.st/BWOPO of the results from testing it on both my raspberry pi and on asahi. You can see that on the pi I get a root bash shell after running the binary that has the suid permission and uses setuid(0) but on Asahi I get a new non-root shell with less environmental variables defined (I'm assuming this is cuz I ran it as just /bin/bash and
<Zeroine>
didn't give it the -l flag). Any idea why this doesn't work on Asahi?
<Retr0id>
what distro is the pu running
<Retr0id>
*pi
<waldi>
/bin/bash does not like to be run in setuid context. why don't you use something existing, like sudo oder doas?
<j`ey>
Zeroine: you should check the return value of setuid too
<Retr0id>
I would suggest reading `man setresuid`
<Zeroine>
Retr0id: pi os

<Zeroine>
waldi: I can't use sudo in my case
<Zeroine>
j`ey: you mean in the C file, right?
<j`ey>
Zeroine: yeah
<Zeroine>
Okay, I'll try out the suggestions and come back if I have more to ask
<Zeroine>
thanks by the way
