that's the problem, I don't know where it exactly is. the issue is, when launched normally from Steam (with Proton Experimental 9.x and DXVK) the game "The Witness" has all frame times delayed by 2 seconds (e.g. 2008ms, 2013ms, 2009ms, 2017ms, 2015ms, etc.)

however if you run it with PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1, that issue disappears (but the graphics get a bit glitchy)
