mixi: ok finally looking into this, you said "adding '-e SOMMELIER_SCALE=0.5' to your muvm invocation", do I need to modify the steam launcher?

nicolas17: that should work. I never really used the launcher script myself. you can probably modify a copy of it somewhere if you don't want to fight the package manager on each update

"When muvm starts, it registers FEX as a binfmt provider, so x86/x86_64 applications will be transparently run through it."
<j`ey>
is that talking about the host or the guest?

rn you most likely do not want muvm as a binfmt misc handler on host

Hey, it's me again. Thanks for the tip with perf and performance counters, but for my specific usecase, using the perf system seems a bit too inaccurate. (I am trying to measure latencies of single instructions). So I am thinking of looking into how I could enable reading performance counter directly from user-space (at least for measuring cycles). Therefore, I am looking into how I can modify the Asahi

Linux kernel to set Bit 30 of the system register SYS_APL_PMCR0_EL1 when doing a custom system call, as this bit should enable user-mode access to the registers ( "User-mode access to registers enable" as per AsahiLinux Wiki Page HW:ARM System Registers). Where can I figure out how I can customize the linux kernel for my asahi linux installation?
