<junari>
Also I did not find the DBG_REG0 register in the T507 datasheet

hiya people :) anyone think here the v3lp might be a drop-in replacement for v3s ? I'm honestly wondering about that because even though it says pin-to-pin compatible, the low power dram is a concern imo. I received a mail from sochip claiming they sent me a patch which turned out to be not a patch at all. A readme in chinese which I can't read, a list of ddram parameters I have no idea what for,
<Xogium>
kernel or bootloader or something else, and a couple of binary blobs
<Xogium>
does that ring any bell ?
<Xogium>
I have neither the knowledge nor the tools to do reverse engineering at this point, let alone the energy to do so
<Xogium>
so I'm really amazed by each and every person here who decided to help with all winner support in mainline mostly because they felt like it, I don't think I'd have the energy for it ;) I stick to stm32mp1* whenever I can
<Xogium>
*allwinner
<gamiee>
Xogium: exactly, I have product with Allwinner SoC and it's only SoC which supports all features I need in mainline.

Heck, since SoCs don't even support some stuff in BSP, like wake via IR or CEC
<Xogium>
gamiee: I know right ? Impressive community work
<gamiee>
Some*not since
<Xogium>
shame we need it in the first place. If only allwinner was a vendor who put actual effort into upstreaming
<Xogium>
maybe that could have been a collaboration with allwinner instead of doing all their work for them
<Xogium>
ah well
<Xogium>
so yeah that v3lp thing, I'm not convinced :/

also not a clue what I'm actually supposed to do with those blobs, if anything at all
<gamiee>
Xogium: sadly, it is not that easy, but yeah, Allwinner have different priorities.
<Xogium>
most definitely

Also Xogium: there was discussion few days ago about V3LP, I recommend you to check out.
<Xogium>
oh ? Do you recall which day that might be ?
<gamiee>
Xogium: 12-18-2022
<Xogium>
thanks
<Xogium>
hmm damn they went in pm after, presumably
<Xogium>
that person also didn't mention the binary blobs

<anarsoul>
Xogium: software developers are expensive, even in China. If Allwinner worked on upstreaming their code, their SoCs would cost more
<Xogium>
anarsoul: that's fair, but I'd pay more even for that
<anarsoul>
I don't think they actually care as long as it works with Android
<Xogium>
yeah, tv boxes stuff
