<apritzel> thanks, that's useful
<apritzel> can you read the label on that chip at the very bottom of the picture?
<apritzel> that looks like the PMIC, probably some X-Powers AXP<xxx>
<dsbeka> AXP305 M5078CA 65C1
<dsbeka> RAM: D9PFK 512mb 8banks = 2GB RAM
<apritzel> thanks, so that's indeed similar to the X96 Mate
<apritzel> I guess there is some eMMC chip on the underside of the board?
<dsbeka> EMMC:SAMSUNG KLM8G1GEAC-B001
<apritzel> do you just have the board, or was that inside a proper case?
<apritzel> so can you say what name the box has? R69 is the name of some ancient (though still built) H3 based TV box, not sure if they recycled just the name, or if this is just what's printed on the PCB

<apritzel> ah, thanks, haven't seen that before
<dsbeka> VENDOR: iTV box (made in Uzbekistan) they buy cheap tvbox and modify launcher app to itv app
<apritzel> I see, interesting
<dsbeka> this case was repainted... originally it is in aliexpress in T95 Mini
<apritzel> T95 is another of those heavily overloaded names ;-) I have seen those white T95 mini boxes on Aliexpress, but from what I know they use LPDDR3 DRAM and don't have a PMIC, also the PCB looks completely different
<dsbeka> maybe i can a send commands from FEL mode?
<dsbeka> this is possible?
<apritzel> you can, but it's very low level
<apritzel> there is sunxi-fel (works on Windows, even), which allows you to boot mainline firmware
<apritzel> there used to be a Windows binary for download somewhere, but not sure that's still around or up-to-date
<apritzel> not sure if that works and supports the H616: https://github.com/eperie/build-scripts/releases/download/v1.2/sunxi-fel.exe
<apritzel> dsbeka: so this is a U-Boot (plus Trusted Firmware) image for the X96 Mate TV box: https://paste.c-net.org/CarpoolShocks
<apritzel> if you boot into FEL mode (button pressed while powering the board), you should be able to boot it with: sunxi-fel.exe uboot u-boot-sunxi-with-spl.bin
<dsbeka> sunxi-fel says error alwinner usb fel device not found
<dsbeka> drivers installed correctly
hentai has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<apritzel> I guess you have the USB cable connected correctly?
<apritzel> Only one of the two USB ports would work
<dsbeka> in device manager usb device working properly
<apritzel> and entering FEL mode can be tricky, best is to disconnect all cables, press the FEL button, connect the power cable, release the FEL button, then connect the USB cable
<dsbeka> USB Device(VID_1f3a_PID_efe8)
<apritzel> that's the one
<apritzel> do you have access to that raw USB device as a normal user?
<dsbeka> already giving error
<dsbeka> phoenixsuit working
<dsbeka> but sunxi-fel giving error
<dsbeka> try to connect anydesk to me
<dsbeka> 472 774 458
<apritzel> have you tried running sunxi-fel with administrator rights?
<dsbeka> yes
<dsbeka> i tried zadig libusbK and not giving error but not loading u-boot

<apritzel> dsbeka: if you read this: your box seems to be using secure boot, which we don't properly detect (yet) on the H616 in sunxi-fel
<apritzel> dsbeka: so download this file: https://paste.c-net.org/SkullMonsters, then do: "sunxi-fel.exe spl smc_ret.sunxi", and then do the "sunxi-fel.exe uboot ..." line, it might work

<peterm6881> hi all
<peterm6881> im currently using a V3s but considering using an F1C100s, but I cant interpret Free to see if dropping from 64MB DRAM to 32MB is going to cause me a problem
<peterm6881> # free
<peterm6881> total used free shared buff/cache available
<peterm6881> Mem: 52336 16008 10768 1836 25560 30628
<peterm6881> Swap: 0 0 0
<peterm6881> any takers?

<apritzel> peterm6881: why not use the F1C200s? That is the same as the F1C100s, but has 64MB of DRAM. I think it's the better available version these days anyways
<apritzel> peterm6881: and to answer your question: "free" is not really important, "available" is the more meaningful number
<peterm6881> hi apritzel cost is everything in my project, It's vital cost is not a barrier to ownership. The LicheePi Nano is currently the lowest cost board readily available in volume
<apritzel> the "free" manpage explains the columns
<apritzel> peterm6881: there seem to be many boards with the F1C200s out there as well
<peterm6881> I tested on MangoPi R3c which uses F1C200s, but the form factor is harder to create an enclosure for, plus percentage wise its a good bit more expensive
<peterm6881> but I might go back to the MangoPi R3c because it has an onboard audio amplifier
<apritzel> I would try to get one of the 64MB versions, to avoid running into low RAM issues
<peterm6881> apritzel, your advice is greatly valued
<peterm6881> i agree the market for arm boards has exploded :)
<peterm6881> spoilt for choice
<apritzel> peterm6881: the F1C200s ia a drop-in replacement of the F1C100s, so you might find a board with a similar form factor?
<apritzel> peterm6881: also please note that the F1Cx00s is two generations behind the V3s, core-wise, so performance and compatibility might be worse
<apritzel> for instance the F1Cx00s does not have an FPU
