<digitalcircuit> Quick follow-up on the ipq806x kernel debugging journey - I've got a custom kernel debug info build *with ath10k firmware* installed now! (I must've accidentally toggled something in "make menuconfig" to disable that, oops.)

<russell--> https://crccalc.com/ might be the one i saw recently
<PaulFertser> Tusker: but probably it's easier to disassemble the bootloader function in question.
<Tusker> yeah, tried those methods... nothing shows up the same as their checksum check, trying to disassemble the fw tool which prints out whether the checksum is valid

* russell-- saw a weirdness tonight where a ubnt-erx decided to stop talking to an mr24. both showed link up, but no traffic got through. reboot recovered it. the erx side showed the interface go down and come back up two seconds later. i didn't get information from the mr24, because it wasn't easily reachable and got rebooted before further inquiry. felt a little pause-frame like.

<nbd> rmilecki: the bug is in iwinfo, the generated config is fine
<nbd> rmilecki: and the fix for iwinfo is what i've been discussing with jow
<nbd> i just pushed it to master
<rmilecki> nbd: what about 21.02? is that safe to backport?
<nbd> yes, but please test it before you push it out
<nbd> it works well for me, but it would be nice to have some confirmation
<rmilecki> i'd let it live in master for a bit first I think
<rmilecki> i'll test it on bcm53xx
<rmilecki> nbd: just to be sure: so is that magic +1 expected in the 1e140000.pcie/pci0000:00/0000:00:01.0/0000:02:00.0+1
<rmilecki> i expectet it to be "1e140000.pcie/pci0000:00/0000:00:01.0/0000:02:00.0/" to match /sys/devices/ path
<rmilecki> and the first one I though should be 1e140000.pcie/pci0000:00/0000:00:01.0
<nbd> rmilecki: +1 is appended when you have more than one phy on a single device
<nbd> e.g. on mt7915d or mt7615d
<rmilecki> ahh, it's the same device
<nbd> right
<rmilecki> in the comment there was a line break right before the "0000:02:00.0" part
<nbd> and iwinfo couldn't deal with that until my fix
<rmilecki> i see that now, it's clear, thanks!

<rmilecki> ok, thanks
<f00b4r0> usually it's a rj9 plug, but i suspect manufacturer as moving to rj45 which is becoming the new standard for phone connection in many places

<f00b4r0> ^
<plntyk> telefone - rj45
<f00b4r0> A nice recipe for disaster considering that phone ring voltage is typically 90VAC
<plntyk> afaik in germany there is no confusion since all that analog equipment or even emulation equipment was removed in 2019 or so
<f00b4r0> then again, PSTN is supposed to go away
<plntyk> attaching analog phones does not work anymore on these ports
