steev: i did a completely fresh install of gentoo with your 6.5.5+ kernel with laptop_defconfig, linux-firmware from git, alsa-ucm-conf 1.2.10 with pull 335 patched in
<enyalios>
still no audio :-(
<enyalios>
still just seeing this in syslog `Sep 26 15:03:33 [kernel] [ 1338.679582] MultiMedia1 Playback: ASoC: no backend DAIs enabled for MultiMedia1 Playback, possibly missing ALSA mixer-based routing or UCM profile`
<enyalios>
and when i try to play a test file with aplay i get: `aplay: set_params:1435: Unable to install hw params:`
<enyalios>
anyone with more alsa knowledge than me have any suggestions for me to try?
<push>
maybe try stealing the /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf from ubuntu concept?
<steev>
don't have that file here at all on debian testing, where sound works

There are no sound-specific tweaks for X13s in Ubuntu.

Under the EndeavourOS desktop on the ThinkPad X13s I can easily use the console program mpg123 to play MP3 (if I don't specify a "--audodevice <dev>" parameter). On my X86_64 machine I have to specify the parameter "--audiodevice sysdefault" so that under the crontab (command "crontab -e") the mpg123 program can generate a sound. But if I specify this parameter under the x13s the mpg123 program hangs. Even if I specify the device "sysdefault" under
<agl7>
the desktop in a terminal it hangs the same way. Does anyone know which device I have to specify, which can be listed with the parameter "--list-devices", so that the mpg123 program can create a sound under the crontab. I want to use the mpg123 program to e.g. announce the time with MP3 files (inside the crontab). Maybe it is also necessary to use another MP3 player in the terminal.

oh
<steev>
someone mentioned that the other day on the kali discord too
<HdkR>
CS2 also raises hardware requirements. So it can't run on X13s/Adreno 6xx
<konradybcio>
it does run on windows
<konradybcio>
or well, walk
<konradybcio>
with glitched shaders
<robclark>
HdkR: what does CS2 need that a6xx doesn't have?
<HdkR>
robclark: Same as the other Source 2 games. Five descriptor bindings
<robclark>
oh.. well _technically_ a6xx does have 5.. but iirc tu wanted one for internal purposes.. not sure how hard it would be to re-work that.. a7xx has 8
<HdkR>
Will be nice when Turnip wires up those 8 on a7xx for testing
