<push> So I built and installed pd-mapper from https://github.com/andersson/pd-mapper but when I run it, it just says "no pd maps available"
<push> the source seems to indicate a json file or something, where do I get that?
<push> i should clarify that is not for the x13s, that is working flawlessly

<steev> if it's a windows device, i believe you can check the driverstore for them
<steev> they should be jsn files
<enyalios> steev: why in your kernel source tree `make kernelversion` returns 6.5.3, but the kernel that gets built is 6.5.3+
<enyalios> where does the plus come from?
<steev> + means there are patches on top of the 6.5.3 (which there are)
<enyalios> but where is that set in the source tree, i would have expected something like EXTRAVERSION to be set in the top level Makefile or something
<steev> LOCALVERSION iirc
<steev> set it to LOCALVERSION="" on the command line
<enyalios> its not a problem, i was just curious
<steev> actually, i think it's extraversion
<steev> maybe not
<steev> yeah, it's localversion, it's in scripts/setlocalversion, around line 95

<Jasper[m]> @[(⊙_◎)] are you still having issues when booting?
alfredo has quit [Quit: alfredo]
<Jasper[m]> May be a tiny bit of placebo, but I updated my bios to 1.57 and I'm on a 3/3 of boots after a single crash

<hexdump0815> push: oh - you are on the novago :) ... this is how i got the firmware files for the samsung galaxy book go from the winwdows installation: https://github.com/hexdump0815/imagebuilder/blob/main/systems/snapdragon_7c_woa/doc/required-firmware.md
<hexdump0815> push: not sure how similar it is on the novago, but those dirs on windows are the place to search for the firmware as steev already mentioned it
<hexdump0815> push: do you still have windows installed on your novago?
hightower3 has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer]
<push> hexdump0815: nice! thanks! Yeah one of the two novagos still has windows on it, im working on the steps pmos used to get wifi working on the msm8998
<hexdump0815> push: please let me know in case you get anything working

<push> dookie! theres no jsn files in the filerepository, that must mean the msm8998 uses some other mechanism?
<hexdump0815> push: or the files have to come from elsewhere in this case - no real idea
<push> yep, im following those instructions with a few modifications for the novago
<push> everything is like it should be except pd-ampper, and if i understand correctly pd-mapper is the go between user space and kernel space for stuff like loading firmware
<jhugo> I never got my hands on the novago, but if I remember right it diverged in weird ways from the reference design. The HP and Lenovo models were pretty much rebadged version of the ref design
<jhugo> There might be something special needed for wifi there
<push> i'll send you one
<push> xD
<push> im more than willing to sacrifice one in the name of getting it working
