<steev> dgilmore: can you see LE devices?
<dgilmore> steev: I believe some of the ones I am seeing are LE only
<dgilmore> it does work, I tethered to my phone
<steev> okay, interesting
<dgilmore> btmgmt le on
<dgilmore> hci0 Set Low Energy complete, settings: powered connectable discoverable bondable ssp br/edr le secure-conn
<dgilmore> steev: is it not working there?
<steev> i'm surprised it is working for you since it's not tagged for LE capabilities
<dgilmore> that last one is from "btmgmt info"
<steev> wait
<steev> are you using my tree?
<dgilmore> no
<dgilmore> it is mainline
<steev> [ 77.026254] Bluetooth: hci0: Malformed MSFT vendor event: 0x00
<dgilmore> 6.7.0-0.rc8.61.fc40.aarch64
<steev> oh right
<dgilmore> I probably should try your tree to get working wifi
<steev> i'm not sure what in my tree would be different wrt wifi from mainline
<dgilmore> Do you have working wifi?
<steev> yes
<steev> but i'm still on 6.6, i'm about to try 6.7
<dgilmore> It is probably some module missing then
<steev> you have snoc enabled?
<dgilmore> CONFIG_ATH10K_SNOC=m
<steev> that should do it, the only thing i could think then is... your lack of EC
<steev> does audio work for you?
<dgilmore> I have not tried audio
<steev> the EC isn't in mainline yet
<steev> compiling now, it'll be a bit since i'm doing it on the device
<enyalios> _[m]1: that xkcd is great, also is there actually an irc -> slack gateway because i would love to use irc rather than the slack client for work?
<steev> there is, or was
<steev> but i cannot stand it, because threads absolutely break it
<enyalios> oh yeah my coworkers love threads, that might not go well

<zdykstra> wee-slack is pretty decent
<steev> dgilmore: definitely works here :(
<steev> steev@limitless:~$ uname -a
<steev> Linux limitless 6.7.0-rc8 #4 SMP PREEMPT Sat Jan 6 04:45:34 EET 2024 aarch64 GNU/Linux
<steev> dgilmore: i'll push what i'm using as c630-linux-v6.7.0-rc8 ; http://sprunge.us/xaHJeY is the config i'm running; i don't know what may be missing
<steev> but it's basically c630 stuff layered on top of the x13s stuff
<steev> audio isn't working, still
<steev> dgilmore: hm, it seems that i am missing ipa, but when i enable it... i'm getting kernel panics
<steev> hm, yeah, ipa isn't very happy for me with 6.7.0-rc8 for some reason
<steev> i can boot if i blacklist it, but if i modprobe it i just start getting rcu stalls

<dgilmore> steev: definetly no audio
<steev> [ 27.629082] platform sound: deferred probe pending
<steev> you're missing modules for that
<steev> i just noticed that from the output earlier
<dgilmore> I am installing a kernel now that has added the ec module
<steev> if it doesn't boot, try adding modprobe.blacklist=ipa
<dgilmore> well with the ec I get the battery reporting, but still no wifi
<dgilmore> ipa loads okay
<steev> interesting
<dgilmore> not sure there is a good way to diff kernel configs
<dgilmore> https://paste.centos.org/view/c478bde4 is yours vs mine
<dgilmore> you have # CONFIG_QCOM_IPA is not set
<steev> yeah, as i said, once i enable it, if i don't blacklist, i get rcu timeouts
<steev> i need to revisit my config, really badly

<ardb> steev: where did you find the firmware?
<steev> on windows
<ardb> i take it the file has a different name there?
<steev> it should be something like ipa.mdt
gabertron has joined #aarch64-laptops
<ardb> that did the trick - thanks
<agl> steev: For what is the ipa.mdt file? I mean I have the newest firmware but I have until now never look for a ipa.mdt file.
<agl> for what is the ipa file?
<steev> agl: not related to x13s at all. was related to ardb's question for the modem on the c630
<agl> Ah ok
