how do I get the speakers to work, I copied over all the files from alsa-ucm-conf git repo into /usr/share/alsa/ucm2 folder and confirmed that they've only replaced the ones that had updates (md5sum diff). also have the firmware installed in initramfs using a custom hook. what am I missing to get audio speakers to work?

how do people build mesa for x13s? just default way or oyu use extra flags?
<_[m]123>
albsen[m]: give ls -l of the symlink?
<_[m]123>
whcih distro?
<HdkR>
_[m]123: Default way but I also make an everything driver by enabling all the gallium and vulkan drivers
<HdkR>
Mesa supports the A690 in the X13s out of the box
<albsen[m]>
<_[m]123> "give ls -l of the symlink?" <- (debian) not sure what you need, I've checked which files the default alsa-ucm-conf updates and replaced the files with the ones from github. if I send u all of them here it'll be a lot. I can make a pastebin and show u
<steev>
i do believe you'd want to rsync not just copy the files from the ucm config repo; some are hidden and some are symlinks

<steev> "i do believe you'd want to rsync..." <- I'll try rsync
<steev>
and it's probably fine to not do so, but any time i change the configs up, i do a systemctl stop alsa-restore; rm /var/lib/alsa/* -rf && reboot

what script?
<steev>
if pipewire isn't running in your user session (or you aren't using pulseaudio) then yeah, pavucontrol won't be able to connect to it
