is there some internal driver mechanism that detects what type of x1e it is? because there i also the 4.2 and up variants, and what about the x1e-78?
<SpieringsAE>
devkit is 4.3 or something if im not mistaken
<SpieringsAE>
about the patch steev shared above^
<macc24>
<SpieringsAE> "is there some internal driver..." <- iirc scmi handles cpufreq

shouldnt these clocks be advertised by/read from that? Instead of it being part of the devicetree
<SpieringsAE>
ah okay so this is a tweak. Wow this cpu frequency interface seems like a bit of a mess lol
<SpieringsAE>
Why not pump this tweak up to the highest value from the highest frequency cpu though? I guess this scmi interface will limit what the cpu will actually do anyway
<macc24>
<SpieringsAE> "shouldnt these clocks be..." <- i *think* they are
<macc24>
<SpieringsAE> "ah okay so this is a tweak..." <- yeah and i wonder how it'll affect skus without boost
* travmurav[m]
still wonders what's up with partial-goods x1p in reality

<JensGlathe[m]>
are there any x1p purwa laptops up and running on Linux
<macc24>
has purwa even launched yet?
<JensGlathe[m]>
yes, I can buy one
<steev>
probably not?
<maz>
steev: I don't understand the comment about the lack of AMU in this cpu capacity patch.
<Jasper[m]>
steev: It has
<maz>
the SoC definitely advertises the AMU
<steev>
i meant probably not running linux
<steev>
maz: i am not the developer :)
<maz>
or is that yet another "run at EL1" limitation?
<maz>
I guess I'll ask directly! :)
<steev>
was just something i noticed on the list that may be of interest to people in here (i won't have an x1e til next year at the earliest)
<maz>
definitely of interest, and thanks for mentioning it!
