What temperature does that happen at? I've not seen my asus get above 90 degrees, seems to chill at 88 degrees at full power. tbh I would like to make the fan curve a bit more aggressive, a bit too spicy for my liking

btw whats happening with that qseecom allow list? My asus isn't on that list yet, but I saw something about making it generic for all x1e80100 systems so they don't have to be individually added
* travmurav[m]
immediately wonders what's up with that on ufs devices like samsung
<travmurav[m]>
I guess efivars are just readonly if you don't have qsee storage backend working
<SpieringsAE>
there was someone that was making a patch for ufs
<SpieringsAE>
but they are getting tired of revisions
<travmurav[m]>
But they will appear writeable, just not save

I'm trying to compile a kernel for Ubuntu with the latest patches for the 14s Gen 6, specifically to test some recent patches that enable external DisplayPort support. Currently, I'm running kernel version 6.11.0-49-qcom-x1e, but I noticed that the latest source is still on 6.11.0-48 (qcom-x1e-next) [link](https://code.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-concept/ubuntu/+source/linux/+git/oracular).
<wizzard>
Hi everyone,
<wizzard>
Could anyone clarify which branch is used for building the kernal and which I should be using to compile the kernel with the patches from qcom-x1e-next?
<wizzard>
Here are the specific patches I'm interested in testing:
<tobhe>
wizzard: let me actually push the latest tag
<tobhe>
qcom-x1e branch is now in sync again
<tobhe>
a few patches in the previous built caused regressions with the T14s oled and were reverted again until we find out how to fix those
<wizzard>
Perfect. Thanks.
<wizzard>
Any advise how to test the t14s: Add audio related nodes patch?
<wizzard>
I am happy to help in debugging any issues.

the dtb changes alone are not enough to make the speakers work. We also need an audioreach topology binary and an alsa ucm config

Sorry for not knowing any better, this is the first time I am trying to compile a kernel myself. Which commands do you use to build the kernel from the qcom-x1e branch.
<wizzard>
My build commands are:
<wizzard>
I have followed the Ubuntu BuildYourOwnKernel Guide. First I appended a string to the version number in debian.qcom-x1e/changelog. Then applied my patches. I assumed I do not need change anything in menuconfig.
<craftyguy>
Ugh, welp, force poweroff/reboot it is then
<abby>
can you get to a shell and do it in the sysfs sysrq?
<craftyguy>
No, the internal display appears to be borked after a suspend/resume
<abby>
ssh?
<craftyguy>
Like, no backlight, and no access to external display or ssh
<abby>
darn
<craftyguy>
yeah. I know that suspend/resume while connected to an external display is broken, but every so often is seems to break for me when there is no external display involved
<craftyguy>
bummer about sysrq key not working... what's this driver that needs to be made? Anything similar on other platforms?
<abby>
a bunch of the fn-layer keys set registers in an i2c device, which i think from konrad's work is the EC
<abby>
so something needs to match register changes <-> various events
