jenneron: Howdy! I have a Lenovo Flex 5G, I was wondering if you knew what kernel version the UFS stopped working properly on, or at least have a known good/bad kernel version so that I can save a bit of time 😅

logan2611: i have 6.11 working here - with some extra patches
<maz>
I have no confirmation whether that's the correct workaround, but it gets us by.
<travmurav[m]>
mhm fun
<travmurav[m]>
tbh the way you mentioned it last time "I'm awaiting confirmation" sounded like it's some security issue xD
<maz>
no, nothing of the sort, sorry! ;-)
<travmurav[m]>
:D
<maz>
but on the other side, if *this* is broken, what else?
<travmurav[m]>
tbh on one hand I'd think "well I guess this was a startup that implemented those cores from scratch" but on the other hand "ugh wtf I thought arm provides extensive test suites for everything, why else would you pay them..." xD
<konradybcio>
SpieringsAE: which device do you have?
<maz>
no, ARM doesn't provide much in terms of validation. the ACK basically checks that the features exposed by the core are apparently working.
<maz>
but the core DV is really up to the implementers.
<travmurav[m]>
eh...
<maz>
you can license some very expensive tools to help with the validation, but that's usually very integrated with your emulation environment, and ARM won't help you there.
<maz>
in short, you pay ARM for the *right* to build a CPU, and support on the architecture. that's all/

konradubcio: the asus vivobook s15
<SpieringsAE>
I still need to actually put the bindings into that dtb but jeah
<SpieringsAE>
okay, I did an oopsie, and I'm a bit stuck, I did `git am` to get some patches that my patch depends on to check, so yeah it works now. But now these patches from the git am are in my history
<SpieringsAE>
and so they get included in my b4 send, which is not good
<SpieringsAE>
I think I should do a checkout of an earlier point in the tree?
<konradybcio>
move the b4 cover letter after the patches you picked up
<konradybcio>
b4 only picks up commits after that one
<SpieringsAE>
well the picked up patches are the last ones
<SpieringsAE>
so it would also remove all my commits
<konradybcio>
git rebase -i $(git describe --abbrev=0) and move them around
<SpieringsAE>
okay that one is cool I think I got it
<SpieringsAE>
yep, thanks a lot! I really need to get better at git
<konradybcio>
it also hurts to type all these long commands.. oh-my-zsh has a lot of nice built-in aliases, and then there's some here too https://konradybcio.pl/git.txt

I also feel like b4 prep --auto-to-cc added too many people

I guess you could remove the whole to-cc part (copy to editor window) and then do b4 prep —auto-to-cc again
