I have kicked off my efi partition. Actually I have: a new installed efi setup and my two linux partitions (boot and encrypted file system). What I need is a new working EFI directory. I would like to use a live system, mount in my linux partitions and rebuild grub. But the live stick ol @Glanzmann: (https://tg.st/asahi-debian-live.tar) does not boot. What can I do?

<BenTheTechGuy>
you might be able to run the Asahi installer again to repair the ESP
<BenTheTechGuy>
it'll at the very least put fresh m1n1 and U-boot there which you can use to manually boot into the kernel to then get GRUB going
<BenTheTechGuy>
I had to do that once
<BenTheTechGuy>
ah, rereading your message it looks like you already have a working EFI setup
<BenTheTechGuy>
what you can do is get the kernel and initramfs off of your boot partition, copy them to the ESP, then boot the kernel and initramfs from U-Boot

My boot partition is ext4, so not readable from macOS. I probably did not prepare the live boot stick the right way. I'll retry this tomorrow, because today I will destroy more things
<cy8aer>
Am I able to get kernel and initrd via U-Boot from the partitions?
<tobhe>
in u-boot you need to interrupt the autoboot and run run bootcmd_usb0
<tobhe>
I had problems with some usb sticks before and sometimes had to try a few before one would work
