<WhatDidYouExpect>
could i just run asahi with 20gb of space alloacted to it
<WhatDidYouExpect>
its just mostly to test out how the desktop works n stuff
<marcan>
not right now, I need to build new images
<marcan>
alarm probably isn't going to see any work until after the official fedora release, then I'll just bump everything to parity and rebuild images
<marcan>
I wouldn't recommend it for anything serious anyway, unless you're dead set on Arch over Fedora or anything else
<leio>
or pointers what needs to be done to help out with it - my goal is to put gentoo on it, so it's about that or dealing with fedora kernel incompatibilties with gentoo livecd
<marcan>
poke chadmed about gentoo
<leio>
I have a bit, that's where the info is from
<leio>
but ok, things will move there for others after fedora release, while I should be able to overcome the kernel issues easy enough
<leio>
it sounds like if I went the latest nightly fedora minimal, I might have some 6.5 fun either way to deal with
<u154s>
@marcan thanks for the heads-up. Will downgrade later, on the road.
<marcan>
altdistros are basically free to handle the install however they want anyway, so presumably gentoo should offer premade stage3 images or whatever ;) (instead of piggybacking on arch)
<marcan>
yeah, install the *previous* nightly for a non-bork kernel
<marcan>
sorry for this mess...
<marcan>
bunch of things lined up to make this a lot more horrible than it should've been :(
<chadmed>
my goal was at some point to dissect the arm64 livecd image and insert a kernel and modules but the boot infrastructure is so arse-backward and impossible to untangle that "eh fuck it install alarm minimal and boot an initramfs" was the easier option for me and for users
<ChaosPrincess>
leio: in case of gentoo, maybe make rootfs from a vm, and then just copy it to disk?
<chadmed>
(not our boot infrastructure, the livecd's)
<leio>
now got to figure out how to replace the existing fedora install then, eh :)
<chadmed>
leio: #asahi-alt but like i already said the livecd runs in memory so you can just format the fedora rootfs and follow the gentoo handbook
<chadmed>
its quite nifty like that :)

Howdy, is anyone interested in doing a US based group buy of Central Scrutinizers?
<Vivi>
Or alternative question since they are rather inexpensive, what options are required when uploading the bom and setting up a quote to make sure you actually get some working units from them ;)
