<theslowcoder> MasterR3C0RD: Thanks for the tip! Couldn't disable CONFIG_DM_USB, but just enabling CONFIG_USB_ETHER seems to have fixed a lot. It now shows up as a USB peripheral.

<Jookia> theslowcoder: why couldn't you enable CONFIG_DM_USB?
<theslowcoder> Jookia: Couldn't _disable_

<Jookia> ah
<Jookia> are you using DM_USB_GADGET ?
<theslowcoder> Nope
<theslowcoder> Seems like CONFIG_USB_ETHER was enough to just start the controller. Now fastboot and UMS works just fine
<Jookia> ah ok, thanks
<MasterR3C0RD> theslowcoder: No problem! It's an odd dependency, but it seems to work

<apritzel> so yes, this seems to be the issue: the Ethernet gadget does something that enables proper MUSB operation, however it also seems to hog the MUSB controller
<apritzel> so could someone pretty please dig into this and fix it properly? I feel like it's not much that's missing ...
<apritzel> and for the records: USB_ETHER is "default y if ARCH_SUNXI && USB_MUSB_GADGET", that's why it works if you configure it properly

<Soupborsh> I am in FEL in PB618! I had to hold central and right button then power on device and click 2 times power button. I had usb cable connected. I am so happy now
<Soupborsh> I will write how to do it in wiki after I check if I can reproduce it.
<Soupborsh> sudo ./sunxi-fel version
<Soupborsh> usb_bulk_send() ERROR -7: Operation timed out
<Soupborsh> It did work first time but after trying to ./sunxi-fel read 0x42400000 0x82d0 boot1.header it started to output this error
<Soupborsh> Sorry, power button has to be clicked 3 times
<Soupborsh> sudo ./sunxi-fel --list

<apritzel> Soupborsh: can you enter FEL mode via the SD card method? Because this above relies on boot0, so is a feature of the vendor firmware, not of the device itself
