If I toggle port isolation on a (switch) port, what happens underwater? I don' see a 'isolation' function in the dsa ops. The code suggests that dsa port isolation is done via bridge port join/port leave. Is that the (only) way this is handled?)
<Znevna>
underwater?
<Slimey>
water cooling?
<oliv3r[m]>
'behind the scenes' :)
<Znevna>
:P
<aiyion_>
oliv3r[m]: blocktrron1 suggested bridgeport isolation was not implemented in DSA yet, I think.
aiyion_ is now known as aiyion
<aiyion>
That it isn't implemented yet is "just" not raising errors upon usage in Kernel and OpenWrt does not catch it either.
<oliv3r[m]>
not sure what you mean, I see it in upstream master for rtl8366rb, which got me wondering
<oliv3r[m]>
if you speak of (l)uci, yeah fine :p; i'm using iproute2 tools :)

So who's building using systemd here? The faked thing seems to come from having 'I don't think it's that big) big DefaultIimitNOFILE, though I'm guessing, that what is really happening, is that docker no longer honors what the host has, but has its own? unlimited?
<oliv3r[m]>
Oh, btw, I found more about the faked issue, which may have been triggered from the fakeroot update; faked tries to close like a billion file descriptiors close(763850108) = -1 EBADF (Bad file descriptor
<oliv3r[m]>
ulimit unlimited is what I get within my container
<oliv3r[m]>
though that may not be the right limit :) still figuring that part out :)
<oliv3r[m]>
Ansuel: any idea if this is affecting the CI at all?

<oliv3r[m]>
I suppose the fix is to somehow ensure when starting the container, that ulimit is set to a low-ish value to work-around faked not trying to get some enormous number and trying to close all those
<oliv3r[m]>
hah, maybe github does this already 'under water' --ulimit nofile=1024:262144

oliv3r[m]: people don't set their default fd limits insanely high
<Znevna>
oliv3r[m]: it's not that slow, I build a ramips target firmware in around 20 minutes
<Kufat>
TIL that the date attached to the kernel built by OpenWrt has nothing to do with the build time and everything to do with the last git log entry
<schmars[m]>
yes, for the sake of reproducability. it is also the time that's used at startup unless there's a realtime clock
