<dhewg> nbd: fyi, just updated a ramips/mt7621 device since the mac 6.5 update. With a mesh on mt7615e I see this, but it doesn't seem to break anything: https://pastebin.com/reh1yjsH
<nbd> dhewg: will take a look, thanks
<nbd> i didn't see it in my own mesh tests
<nbd> but will run a test on mt7621
<dhewg> I didn't see it on the ipq4019 side either, which I updated earlier

<hitech95> hi guys is there a way to read the pinmux of some pins from userspace? with the specific of the mt7986
Danct12 has quit [Quit: WeeChat 4.0.4]
<PaulFertser> hitech95: yes, from /sys/kernel/debug
<hitech95> PaulFertser, thanks I'm going to see that, I'm trying to figure out what pins the official FW is using. Lets see if they are using a proper pinmux driver or not. The strange thing is that I cannot export additional gpios
<PaulFertser> hitech95: in official firmware you should also check /sys/kernel/debug/gpio contents
<hitech95> does anyone know if the SPIC of the mtk vendor only support one slave device? I cannot find any reference for multiple chip selects

<PaulFertser> But you can always use software bitbanging for chip selects with any SPI controller in master mode.
robimarko has joined #openwrt-devel
<hitech95> PaulFertser, yep I know that, but there is no definition in the docs for that it seems that the chip select is managed by the HW. I'm trying to poke around to see where a chip is connected to. (Zigbee RF)
<hitech95> is unclaimed stuff set to pinmux default? Cant read what is the default value?
<PaulFertser> unclaimed is probably not controlled anyway. But who knows, the bootloader might have configured some static state.
<hitech95> Probably, the uart0 is not claimed but I have output on the serial so something is off.
<hitech95> alaso the SMI bus is not claimed...
<PaulFertser> I think in debug/gpio you see only GPIOs, so if it's pinmuxed to a peripheral it's not there.
<PaulFertser> But should be in /sys/kernel/debug/pinctrl
<hitech95> PaulFertser, yup, but most of the stuff is unclaimed even if there is working stuff attached to it (for example PCM, UART and WIFI stuff) So I think that this is configured by the bootloader.
<hitech95> time to manually poke in the registers then :D

<mrkiko> robimarko: I never did, but maybe I can answer your question
sepf has joined #openwrt-devel
<robimarko> Well, it turns out I hit one more benefit of the vendor kernels
<robimarko> And that is that they have a completely botched up basic version of MHI
<robimarko> So I cant even use backported MHI and WWAN subsystem in 5.4
<mrkiko> robimarko: mhm... :(
<mrkiko> robimarko: so it's 5G PCI-based hw?
<robimarko> So, I need to figure out how to use ModemManager with the raw MHI_QMI interface
<robimarko> Because ModemManager only works with WWAN devices for MHI
<robimarko> Its IPQ6018 but it has RM50N from Quectel
<robimarko> Which can work in USB3.0 and PCIe modes
<robimarko> I got USB QMI mode working without the Quectel crap drivers
<robimarko> But for MHI it seems I cannot get away but they are just meant to be used with Quectel CM which is completely useless
<robimarko> It just sets up an interface with DHCP and doesnt offer any kind of configuration
<robimarko> So I am using ModemManager and want to use it for MHI mode as well
<mrkiko> robimarko: I am under the impression you'll need to change ModemManager itself to support this use case
<robimarko> Well, I am slowly running out of ideas
<robimarko> I need to abstract eSIM enrollment as well as they have different way for LTE and for 5G modems
<robimarko> So, It looks I need to write a daemon that will talk to ModemManager via its glib API
<robimarko> In order to support SIM slot changes, LED custom triggers etc
<mrkiko> robimarko: some work to do but libmm-glib is very nice to use (opinion), even tough you should get little bit used to the GLib way of things
<mrkiko> robimarko: so, a cursory look at the MM code confirms the idea it doesn't support that. However, talking with Aleksander about this may help out
