<KanjiMonster> it's not retroactive, but 2 years would have meant that 5.15 would reach EOL this year
<robimarko> Not shocking really as there arent enough people to do it really
<robimarko> Stable has asked for some contribution back from the corporate users that complain, at least in a form of testing stuff

<Znevna> "While I'm sure someone out there is still running 4.14 in a production Linux system, there can't be many of them. "
<Znevna> lul
<Znevna> I know a lot of devices based on 4.14 :P
<robimarko> And do they ever receive kernel updates?
<Znevna> doubt it
<SwedeMike> 6 year old kernel. Yeah, that'll be in use in lots of places
<Znevna> only tiny hacks, maybe.
<robimarko> That is the point, it doesnt matter if its maintained as nobody is updating it
<Znevna> we don't have enough Padavans

<\x> isnt there the cip / SLTS kernels thingy
<aparcar> zx2c4: you don't happen to implement this new pqxdh protocol from signal messenger for wireguard handshakes, too, do you?
castiel652 has joined #openwrt-devel
<schmars[m]> I'm playing with ucode, wireguard and netlink a lot lately. Noticed that RTM_NEWLINK/SETLINK arent fully namespace aware. There was a kernel patchseries in 2019 that was pretty much okay but stalled. Is that sonething that'd be worth adding to openwrt kernel patches?
<schmars[m]> Already contacted the author about resubmitting it, we'll see

<johnf> does anyone have an idea why these devices are flagged as supporting NMRP? I'm quite certain it's an error: https://forum.openwrt.org/t/nmrp-not-working-on-linksys-e7350/171962

<Borromini> johnf: i think so too, the commit for the E7350 e.g. surely doesn't mention NMRP
<johnf> Borromini: any idea how to fix it? I can tell you that NMRP definitely didn't work and the serial logs don't show any NMRP related messages
<Borromini> edit the respective hardware data pages, I'd say

<dwfreed> yeah, considering nmrp is netgear specific
<dwfreed> and the linksys e7350 and belkin rt1800 (same device, different brand name) are the only non-netgear devices listed as "supporting" it
