<robclark> macc24: btw, https://github.com/Maccraft123/Cadmium/tree/master/baseboard/trogdor/firmware/qcom ... a630_gmu.bin and a630_sqe.fw you should probably grab from upstream linux-firmware (and if you have something older than linux-firmware, moving to newer fw would be a good idea)

<macc24> robclark: they are yoinked right out of cros
<steev> looks like 5.13 is out

<robclark> macc24: CrOS should have latest.. but for gpu fw you don't need to grab it from CrOS, you can take from upstream linux-firmware (or debian package assuming it is up to date)
<macc24> robclark: hmm
<derzahl> man,i thought my original debian install was solid with the device links in /dev/disk/by-id/, but now i see its got a ton of missing devices like my arch install
<derzahl> wtf could have happened
<derzahl> yesterday when i booted it, it still had all the disk device links there
<derzahl> the only thing i can think is that running "zpool create" accidentally on /dev/disk/by-id/scsi-2SAMSUNG (which pointed to /dev/sdf) caused it
<derzahl> wish i could figure out htf udev calculates those device name links

<derzahl> steev, or anyone. if you get a chance could you please run "dd if=/dev/sdf | xz -c > sdf.img.zx" on your c630 and post it somewhere? should only be about 10MB
<derzahl> that way i can try restoring it completely
<steev> gimme a bit
<steev> derzahl: it's 4.3MB, https://arm.kali.org/experiments/sdf.img.xz
<steev> jk, i copy pasta
<steev> so it's .zx
<derzahl> hah, thanks!!
<derzahl> weird. doesnt seem to contain a partition table
<derzahl> ill have to check my backups when i boot back into arch and see if they even work

<derzahl> steev: yeh, my backups are the same way. do you think we need to supply extra options to dd to back it up correctly?
<steev> the only thing i know that might work 100% would be to restore from a lenovo windows restore usb
<steev> but i don't know how to tear the files apart (they're about 14gb in total size) as the 7z files are all password protected, and it's a bunch of cri and other files
<derzahl> hm, good last resort i suppose
<derzahl> im gonna try ripping one again with conv=notrunc
<derzahl> doesnt seem to matter
