shawnguo: out of curiosity, would you mind installing hashcat and giving me the output of `hashcat -b` - it should use pocl and benchmark it. i'm curious what the non-lmh numbers are like
<steev>
preferably on a c630, not the flex
<shawnguo>
steev: okay, starting hashcat on c630 ...
<steev>
should take roughly 20 minutes
<steev>
no, not 20, should take far less than 20.
<shawnguo>
Okay, still running, will report when it completes.
<steev>
fwiw, here's mine - but using 5.12.19 with lmh applied - https://bpa.st/GNEQ
<shawnguo>
For rcg clock, if you meant the kernel WARNING around it, I remember I ever saw it, but I'm not having it right now.

does anyone actually use the touchscreens if they have them? if so, what windowmanager is good for them?
<BlitzWorks>
i ahd mouse issues for awhile and used the touch screen with a pen
<BlitzWorks>
gnoems interface was supprisingly competant
<BlitzWorks>
but thats all i ahve tried
<derzahl>
ah, i had an surface tablet from work a couple years ago i put linux on. nothing i tested seemed very practical

yeah, gnome and budgie both do decently (budgie is based on gnome though so *shrug*) - xfce works fine too

<steev>
time to test the v4
<derzahl>
does gnome have a 'tablet mode' or is it just the normal desktop?
<BlitzWorks>
tablet mode is avtivated autoamtically by a specifiic iio sensor iirc
<BlitzWorks>
though once turned on its difficult to turn off
<BlitzWorks>
and is normmaly triggered by articulating the hinge past 180 degrees in my experince
<BlitzWorks>
iirc some elements get a bit bigger and it understands gestures
<BlitzWorks>
thats the main diffrence
<steev>
shawnguo: v4 is looking promising
<steev>
i need to try to build a kernel still
<steev>
i still see that clk issue but i've been able to suspend while compressing the image so that's good
<steev>
hopefully stephen gets some free time soon to look :(
<steev>
was able to suspend while `make -j$(nproc) deb-pkg` and `xz --memlimit-compress=50 -T 4 /home/steev/work/build-scripts/kali-arm/kali-linux-2021.3-pinebook-arm64.img` both running at the same time
<steev>
derzahl: new 5.12 push with v4 of the lmh patchset
<steev>
also oops, i forgot to enable boost on this c630
<steev>
blergh, rang into the encoder time out again
<steev>
i really wish i knew enough to figure out the clock stuff
<derzahl>
steev: nice!
<derzahl>
compiling
<derzahl>
whats v4 all about?
<steev>
moves some things around, i'd have to check her email but she mentioned the irq stuff in the cpufreq handler
