<clover[m]> I guess these aarch64 laptops don't have the Intel backdoor that non-librebooted/corebooted x86 machines have?
<szclsya[m]> we still have dash, similar stuff
<qzed> not to forget whatever trust-zone stuff qualcomm is shipping... (which seems to be their whole reason for not letting us access EL2 and do normal KVM stuff)

<clover[m]> qzed @qzed:matrix.org: is s0ix suspend on surface book 4 (amd) supported upstream yet? Last comment here is from late 2021 https://github.com/linux-surface/linux-surface/issues/458
<amstan> rk3288 was pretty free actually
<amstan> so it's ironic we saw libreboot specifically targetting it
<qzed> clover: no idea, sorry. Haven't heard much from the AMD variants lately
<qzed> AMD did some work upstream, so I guess it could/should have improved? But as I said, I don't have any concrete reports
<clover[m]> looks like x13s just got support for "Lenovo Adaptive ICC Profile" whatever that means. something to do with color calibration

<steev> yeah
<steev> no idea myself, and i don't have any of that kinda hardware to tell if it's truly working or not
<clover[m]> Are they calling it linux 6.0 because rust was added to the kernel?
<qzed> I doubt it, linus' justification was "numbers getting too big again", which I think is the usual cause for a major version bump
