can anyone confirm whether or not the x13s still needs the efi=novamap workaround?
<ardb>
for reference, i intend to include the following patch in my 6.1 PR for EFI:
<ardb>
which means that, as long as you build your kernel with 48-bit virtual addressing (which is the default on most distros but not on android)
<ardb>
you get efi=novamap for free
<jhovold>
ardb: the x13s still needs efi=novamap
<ardb>
jhovold: ok
<jhovold>
ardb: nice to be able to drop it soon
<ardb>
yeah baby steps :-)
<ardb>
but at least you can boot an ordinary installer without crashing
<ardb>
ndec: ^^
<rfs613>
for those with x13s, do you find the keyboard a little less-than-stellar, not quite thinkpad-like?

<clover[m]>
It's my first thinkpad. I enjoy the keyboard and use it daily
<clover[m]>
The layout is also better than its contemporary, the z13, IMO

seems more "mushy" than say the X1 carbon...
<steev>
i haven't had my x13s in a while, but it feels about the same to me, from what i remember
<steev>
er, x1 carbon in a while*
<szclsya[m]>
less key travel and actuation force, but usable imo
<steev>
oh, that's the patch i've been using for a while on the c630, and why i haven't needed efi=novamap
<steev>
or something along those lines
<szclsya[m]>
m1 is getting gpu accelerated desktops (albeit still very early stage). wonder if there's any progress on sc8280xp's gpu

not yet, as far as i'm aware
<szclsya[m]>
guess we shall wait
<robclark>
did someone find a qc kernel branch w/ kgsl that had a690 support? Usually it shouldn't be too hard to figure out what is needed from that
<robclark>
mesa side of things should be pretty easy, although there were a value or two I'd just have to make a guess (ie. it might take a couple tries to get right)

we have the bits, we don't have the bobs
<steev>
something is breaking, either dispcc or mdss stuff
<steev>
disclaimer idk what dispcc is, it's likely mdss
<steev>
i've been kinda waiting to re-poke at it while all the mdss and dpu stuff shakes out
<robclark>
dispcc is the display clock controller
<szclsya[m]>
dispcc should be good now, I think it's merged
