<steev> jhovold: something i'm seeing that i thought was fixed was, [ 5609.759589] [drm:dp_aux_isr [msm]] *ERROR* Unexpected DP AUX IRQ 0x00000008 when not busy - seems to be back?
<jhovold> steev: yeah, i thought that was fixed too, at least the previous cause for it was
<jhovold> haven't seen it myself, though. When do you see it?

<Dantheman825[m]> The ubuntu install on my X13s has pd-mapper installed and running OOTB, but for whatever reason, it only decides to work on the distro provided kernels (6.5.0-1007-laptop). Not the self-built kernels though
<konradybcio> Dantheman825: check the systemd unit file, it has a funny check for the -laptop suffix..
iivanov has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<Dantheman825[m]> I actually did see that, I tried removing that line in both pd-mapper.service as well as qrtr-ns.service
<Dantheman825[m]> but even after a sudo systemctl daemon-reload and a reboot, the audio and battery are still borked
<Dantheman825[m]> Here's the service files in case anything odd stands out... (full message at <https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/v3/download/matrix.org/OQsyaqWlkoYcWBWgJkaGZmqV>)
<bryanodonoghue> steev manflu on my end
<bryanodonoghue> are you sorted with camera now ?
<bryanodonoghue> ah I see VFE timeout
<bryanodonoghue> do you have pm8008 setup and working ?

<jhovold> bryanodonoghue: steev's branches are based on my wip branches (as is your camera branch) so pm8008 is set up there too
<jhovold> bryanodonoghue: but go back to bed, man flus are no jokes :)

<steev> bryanodonoghue: mostly. firefox still claims i have no camera, but i expect wip stuff to be wip :)
<bryanodonoghue> steev does libcamera qcam work for you ?
<bryanodonoghue> i've been recompiling pipewire to point it at my version of libcamera that does the debayering
<bryanodonoghue> I *think* you can do some sort of local config with pipewire so that recompliation isn't required though
<steev> i did not attempt to build qcam, but cheese mostly worked - it's probably the lack of pipewire pointing at my version of libcamera - and like johan said, go back to bed; the camera isn't that important to me :)
<bryanodonoghue> if cheese works then that's the main part
<steev> there's still userland bits there to go, but it did show
<bryanodonoghue> we just need to get something merged to libcamera and hitting the distros
<bryanodonoghue> btw manflu > bubonic plague
<bryanodonoghue> I can attest :)
<steev> i believe it

<juergh1> Dantheman825: Make sure to enable loading of compressed FW coz that's what it is on Ubuntu.
<juergh1> Yeah and that check for -laptop kernel needs to go. Is there a way for systemd to figure out when to start the service? like if soc == qcom or something.
<steev> you could do something like that with a udev rule, where you could check for something specific to qcom, and if so, tag it systemd and then start the service?
<juergh1> sound reasonable. I need to look in udev-systemd interaction. is all a little murky to me.
