<anthony25> just for a kernel contribution advice: I've been asked to resend the patch as it doesn't apply due to the broken format in my email. Should I just re-send the patch as reply, or should I send a new email naming it Patch v2?
<JensGlathe[m]> make it v2, with b4. you can set initial version, too. travmurav knew how, something with reroll
<anthony25> ok
<konradybcio> b4 prep --force-revision n
<konradybcio> but RESEND is usually useful for other things
<konradybcio> make it v3 to keep the tools happy :)
<konradybcio> well, v2 if the initial one was v1..
<konradybcio> v(n+1), you get it
srinik has joined #aarch64-laptops
<anthony25> thanks a lot!
<anthony25> I used b4, sent the patch, indeed it's so much easier!
<anthony25> konradybcio: and sorry for wasting some of your time with my broken email
<konradybcio> part of the job, don't worry!
<konradybcio> now let me waste some of your time with review.. :D
<anthony25> haha, you don't :p
<anthony25> thanks again!

<macc24> anthony25: upstreaming overall saves time as now you don't have to carry that patch in a fork and people who would benefit from the patch don't need to apply it
<anthony25> oh definitely, I'm happy to do it
<anthony25> it was more about my lack of knowledge over the tools and coding style
<konradybcio> b4 is your swiss army knife here
<konradybcio> then you want to read up on this: https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/process/coding-style.html
<anthony25> thanks, indeed I haven't read the DTS coding style (now I've read it)

<macc24> i just sent out v2 of the ec driver, would really appreciate testing
<macc24> sorry, i removed some features, didn't have the energy or motivation to clean them up
<macc24> does suspend/resume just fine tho, which i consider the bare minimum
<JensGlathe[m]> beware of suspend keys on keyboards, they might just work
<anthony25> macc24: how can I help?
<macc24> anthony25: apply the patches and see if the power led goes blinky and keyboard backlight shuts down after suspending and they go back to normal after resuming
<anthony25> and can I help to port the features you removed?
<anthony25> btw, now you can solve the mistery about the LID switch on the yoga slim 7x in https://github.com/Maccraft123/it8987-qcom-tool :p
<anthony25> I don't own other snapdragon x laptops, so I'll be only able to test on the slim 7x
<macc24> make a pull request removing it that references your patch
<logan2611> I recently got my hands on a Google Asurada (Hayato) Chromebook, I was wondering if anyone had any pointers for getting the display to work on mainline. I've been banging my head over this for the past week, and so far all...
