<JensGlathe[m]>
Okay so arm lost but will continue to do business with its biggest customer or something like that
<JensGlathe[m]>
Oh and we can keep our x1e chips 🎉

I wonder how x2e and x3e launches will go in the coming years. Will they learn from their x1e mistakes such as the devkit launch and the bad (Windows) software support.
<JensGlathe[m]>
This secrecy is killing them
<JensGlathe[m]>
Actually x1e launch was an improvement
<JensGlathe[m]>
SDDK was a crater though
<JensGlathe[m]>
Copilot+ AI will be the next one

👀 purwa clock patches on linux-arm-msm mailing list
<JensGlathe[m]>
This will be an interesting weekend
<SpieringsAE>
trying to chainload sdboot from usb with grub, just getting error: Unknown error.
<SpieringsAE>
:(
<SpieringsAE>
that it will definetly be
<JensGlathe[m]>
Wouldn't expect it to work from USB. Even pop-os is using grub (in an odd way) for booting from USB, and they are fans of sd-boot (or something).
<SpieringsAE>
well, grub is on an sd card
<JensGlathe[m]>
You have a Vivobook
<SpieringsAE>
ah yeah this is not about my vivobook, this is about my framework thingy
<JensGlathe[m]>
I guess I will try my luck with the purwa clock patches and the ThinkBook 16
<SpieringsAE>
Trying to get something besides the stock borked ubuntu image to boot
<JensGlathe[m]>
borked?
<konradybcio>
the changes posted are not enough, more will come in later
<SpieringsAE>
jeaahhhhh I did a sudo apt update && upgrade and it borked wifi, gpu etc
<JensGlathe[m]>
I will hang tight
<SpieringsAE>
it did not enjoy that
<SpieringsAE>
I guess it messed up some files they just dumped ontop of the rootfs to get that stuff working, I can't understand why wifi is borked though, it says it can't find the firmware but it is definetly there
<macc24>
Jens Glathe: i'm a BIG fan of systemd-boot and i use it for usb booting and it works perfectly fine
<anonymix007[m]>
I believe those files are just the output of `fwupdtool hwids`
<JensGlathe[m]>
I'm seeing 2 patch series for x1p42100 now, clock and CRD

<steveej[m]>
something has introduced a bug on my x13s. it happens more often than not that the entire machine freezes when i plug in a USB sound device.
<steveej[m]>
when it doesn't freeze, i do see this in the logs: pcie_3a_gdsc status stuck at 'off' followed by a stacktrace
deathmist1 is now known as deathmist

pcie3a is WWAN
<steveej[m]>
my x13s doesn't have a WWAN device. i also disabled the option in the UEFI setup
<anthony25>
are you on 6.13-rc3?
<anthony25>
there was a bug related to USB on 6.13, fixed in rc4, I don't know if it's related
<spawacz>
How to silence the "ath11k_pci 0006:01:00.0: HTC Rx: insufficient length" spam in dmesg on x13s?
<JensGlathe[m]>
oh that one is bad. its IMO crashed ath11k firmware sending garbled cbs to the isr. That was what my debugging of it showed, the garbled cbs start eventually even when the WiFi link isn't active (yay). To stop it, its usually unload / reload of the ath11k_pci driver.
<steveej[m]>
anthony25: yes i'm on 6.13-rc3 and it also happenes on 6.13-rc2. didn't go back further to test
<JensGlathe[m]>
But it will come back, eventually. I toyed with the idea of detecting it in the isr and trigger a firmware unload/reload, but havent' gotten around to implement it.
