<icecream95> SpieringsAE: I've also been looking at the Vivobook EC, but haven't gotten anything useful to happen yet.
<icecream95> I've set up Windows kernel debugging so can use the AMLI debugger to trace what's happening, easier than trying to read the ACPI tables directly.
<icecream95> I'll also try setting a watchpoint on the I2C MMIO region to get a better view of what is sent to hardware.
<icecream95> Note that *some* of the keyboard features (but not RGB mode) are handled through HID rather than the EC device, I wrote a BPF program at https://github.com/icecream95/udev-hid-bpf
<icecream95> Oh, and Merry Christmas, as it has been for the last five minutes for me.

<SpieringsAE> icecream95: nice! I was wondering what was up with those keys, are they mapped to some invalid code and this thing kind of patches them?

<icecream95> SpieringsAE: Well, vendor-defined, but yes. Also there are a couple of commands for keyboard backlight/fn-lock.
