<Jasper[m]> Was for Vivobook iirc
<Jasper[m]> Otherwise you can check partslookup
<maz> jhovold: not that I can see,.
<maz> no trace of it in -rc1.
<jhovold> maz: apparently not, I'm sure I did see an "applied" message from bamse
<jhovold> must have been a fluke somewhere
<bamse> maz: i picked the devkit patches for v6.13 last minute, together with some other stuff...and was then told that there where missing dependencies
<bamse> maz: so it never made it into a PR
<bamse> maz: should be in linux-next in 30 minutes
<bamse> i mean, in for-next, for linux-next...
<maz> bamse: no worries, I can cherry-pick the patches.

<maz> ah, good surprise of the day: -rc1 boots on the x1e devkit without a single out of tree patch (well, other than my KVM patches).
<JensGlathe[m]> Doyou have display?
<maz> probably not, I'm firmly a serial console person.
<maz> so I guess no display, GPU, sound, or anything else. But serial, PCIe, SMMUs are all up and running, which is a significant improvement over the M2 setup.
<kettenis> maz: I'm confused; that's all working on the M2 too no?
<kettenis> (well with DART instead of SMMU of course)

<robclark> hmm, I don't see anything obvious in jhovold's latest branch on top of linux-next which would be needed to light up display or gpu, so I'd kinda expect them to be working as well (modulo dtb for given device)
<maz> kettenis: not out of the box. I still need to merge ab out 300 patches, give or take.
<maz> even the SMC code still isn't upstream.
kalebris has joined #aarch64-laptops

<SpieringsAE> lumag: Can I keep the reviewed by tag when I update my bluetooth/wifi patch for the vivobook?
<SpieringsAE> JensGlathe: didn't know they had that one in 32gb ram, I wonder how long that one lasts, it has the biggest battery I've seen with the plus cpu
<SpieringsAE> I do feel like 32gb may be a bit overkill for 8 cores lol
<robclark> SpieringsAE: generally I'd keep the r-b tag unless you make major changes to the previously reviewed patch

<macc24> SpieringsAE: vivobook s15?
<SpieringsAE> yep
<SpieringsAE> with the 'other' ec
<SpieringsAE> seems to be on 0x5b
<macc24> did you change it?
<macc24> * change it to 0x5b?
<SpieringsAE> yep
<SpieringsAE> default value gave nothing
<macc24> change it back to 0x76
<SpieringsAE> is it just reading junk?
<SpieringsAE> dang shouldve thougth of that
<macc24> idk
<macc24> what i do know however, is that acpi is talking to ec on 0x76
<SpieringsAE> I don't get anything as before
<macc24> what were you doing when you were seeing nothing?
<SpieringsAE> tried pressing buttons, closing the screen etc
<macc24> i don't see anything in acpi for that under i2c6 interrupt method
<SpieringsAE> listen-to-events
<macc24> run a benchmark
<macc24> it should tell you about fan changes
<SpieringsAE> yeah the fan doesn't seem to change on this machine

<SpieringsAE> but that one seems to have not done anything
<SpieringsAE> huh I set it to 2 but when I read it, it is one
* macc24 shrugs
<SpieringsAE> yeah 2 doesn't actually get set, only 0 or 1
<macc24> asus weirdness
<macc24> makes sense for an 'enable' toggle
<steev> 83 is fine really
<SpieringsAE> it doesn't seem to be throttling according to btop
<steev> i know that the x13s is really low for its thermals, but the c630 does 95 *before* it starts to throttle
<SpieringsAE> oof
<steev> nah, you can barely even tell its hitting 95
<macc24> aren't those chips rated for that?
