hi
<CaptainYukinoshitaHachiman[m]>
has anyone successfully built Element/Schildichat on asahi? Seems the compiler exits with errors without a clear explanation
<j`ey>
/ paste your config if you want one of us to take a look and the dmesg i guess
<_jannau_>
also which kernel do you use? 5.19-rc* has the nvme driver but the dts changes are not in
<maz>
marcan: I hope this dump is a lie.. it says NV2...
<marcan>
it has NV, we knew that
<maz>
well, I didn't. or rather didn't want to believe it.
<_jannau_>
maz: I saw the same
<j`ey>
quick, someone apply the nv patches
<maz>
fuck. now I need to spend more money.

<j`ey>
maz: ECV too
<maz>
yeah, and FGT.
<maz>
TWED too (which is somehow useless, but hey...)
<maz>
more interesting, has PTI.
<maz>
BTI*
<Sobek[m]>
What are NV2 and BTI ?

and branch target identification
<amarioguy>
_jannau_: thanks!!
<j`ey>
(aka ensure you dont branch into the middle of functions)
<amarioguy>
btw we should probs verify if the SEIS bug is fixed or not
<Sobek[m]>
SEIS ? What was that one ? (I know of the M1racles bug, but I don't know that name)
<maz>
well, that's an easy one to check. just run an older version of EDK2.
<j`ey>
Sobek[m]: it's a bug in the virtual interrupt controller
<Sobek[m]>
Is the M1Racles issue fixed btw ?
<amarioguy>
Sobek[m]: basically m1 had this odd bug where virtual SErrors sometimes fired on the host if the vGIC registers had invalid stuff written to them
<amarioguy>
made maz's life very annoying as i'm sure he can attest
<maz>
amarioguy: no, that's *not* the bug.
<amarioguy>
ah my apologies
<maz>
the bug triggers when the guest does something that violates the GIC state machine.
<maz>
irrespective of the content of the registers.
<amarioguy>
right right
<maz>
and that was a pretty easy one to address, given that we already had all the code.
<maz>
(though writing the workaround for TX *was* pretty annoying).
