branch anbernic-image-hacks
apritzel has joined #linux-sunxi
warpme has joined #linux-sunxi
<loki666>
and branch anbernic-display-mainline has the same issue
<tokyovigilante>
just comment that one out
<tokyovigilante>
haven’t decided how I’m going to handle it yet, the port is for HDMI which logically should stay in the TCON TOP node, but I’m not sending in HDMi support yet
<loki666>
so I comment this full tcon_top_hdmi_out node ?
<tokyovigilante>
actually, not correct, sorry just that specific node name as per that commit, that's in the display-mainline branch but is what is needed
<loki666>
thanks

<macromorgan>
on the axp717, is vsys the same as ipsout?
<macromorgan>
I'm going back to the drawing board and implementing the PMIC first as an ADC, since that will be the easiest way to use the existing driver infrastructure (broonie didn't object to this, so I think we're good doing it this way).
<loki666>
tokyovigilante: yep there is still something fishy with your opp table and my RG35XX-H
<loki666>
well i guess, cpufreq is completely disabled now
<loki666>
[ 2.399464] cpu cpu0: _of_add_opp_table_v2: no supported OPPs

[ 2.405340] cpu cpu0: OPP table can't be empty
<tokyovigilante>
loki666: It’s very easy to get the DTs out of sync if you are not careful so just check them again. I will hopefully post a patch for those extra mins to the kernel mailing list later today, as they have been stable in my testing.
<tokyovigilante>
sorry but I am not really guaranteeing those git branches are always bootable, they are my WIP trees and although I am happy to share them they are a bit volatile.
<loki666>
I understand, and I thank you for sharing them, but maybe the microvolts are a bit low for my device, where did you get these values? from anbernic official firmware image ?
<tokyovigilante>
Nah that message is related to detecting the correct bins, you have a DT issue somewhere
<tokyovigilante>
The values for all but the 1.5GHz step are from prior H616 docs and work, the 1.5GHz is from the Anbernic images, and is slightly out of spec for the processor (max operating 1.10), but within the absolute limit of 1.3.
<tokyovigilante>
What I did previously was disable all but known working steps (by just commenting them out of the file) then re-adding them sequentially to see which ones were problematic
<tokyovigilante>
(really helps to use FEL-boot and TFTP kernel for speed and not swapping SDs)
<tokyovigilante>
but I think the root cause was a but in the cpufreq driver, because all steps now work for me after a few subsequent fixes have landed
<tokyovigilante>
if you are pushing voltages up, go easy, the absolute max is in the datasheet but there are heat issues to consider too
