<enyc> ** links on https://downloads.openwrt.org/ need updating to, 23.05.3 ...
<dwfreed> It was literally *just* released
<enyc> dwfreed: maybe so; I've had 23.05.3 images on-test / running for 2 days now and i noticed main page has been updated; just not the downloads. page which often seems to get forgotten IME
<dwfreed> builds start (and finish) before releases are announced
<dwfreed> wiki is updated when releases are announced
<dwfreed> Also different people are responsible for different parts of OpenWrt, so things happen when they're available
<enyc> That figures!!; downloads. page doesn't (seem) to be a wiki

<\x> hi robimarko
<\x> on ipq60xx CPU implementeris 0x51 and CPU part is 0x801
<robimarko> \x: All docs say its A53
<\x> yeah thats what i knew too
<\x> im prepping a build for my mr7350
<\x> with all the meme cflags and shit
<\x> maaan, graphite isnt enabled on openwrt gcc builds AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
dangole has joined #openwrt-devel
Tapper has joined #openwrt-devel
gch981213 has joined #openwrt-devel
<\x> robimarko: boots but no idea on what really is it, cflags be like -march=armv8-a+crc+crypto -mcpu=cortex-a73+crc+crypto -mtune=cortex-a73
<robimarko> Its not A73, and I am not so sure that it has CRC extensions
<\x> cpuinfoi says so
<robimarko> Then they are implemented because its reading the feature bits from ID_AA64ISAR0_EL1
Tapper has quit [Quit: Tapper]
<\x> robimarko: well implementer 0x51 part 0x801 isnt defined on gcc's still https://github.com/gcc-mirror/gcc/blob/master/gcc/config/aarch64/aarch64-cores.def
<robimarko> \x: I am not sure if that matters at all
<\x> but its like the same cores as on snapdragon 680 on its little cluster
<robimarko> Because its compiled with -mcpu anyway
<robimarko> Look, I just know that all QCA spec sheets for the whole 802.11ax family are Cortex-A53 only
<\x> same here thats what i knew too
<\x> but i was like "hurr durr lets check what the cpu is to enable meme optimizations for it"
<robimarko> OpenWrt already optimizes for A53, not sure what more you can do
<robimarko> Only enable crypto extensions for packages that require it
<\x> cat /proc/cpuinfo, bam, its not really a53, its kryo 265 silver
<\x> they the same armv8.0 anyway so yeaaaaaah
<robimarko> Which implements A53
<\x> gotta add +crc+crypto though, seems gcc isnt turning those on by def
<robimarko> Again, that GCC def does nothing in OpenWrt
<robimarko> As buildsystem is passing the -mcpu and friend
<\x> ah
<robimarko> crypto and CRC are not enabled by default
<robimarko> So, -mcpu=cortex-a53 is already set
<robimarko> AFAIK, only WolfSSL is manually enabling crypto when ASM optimisationsa re enabled
<robimarko> OpenSSL does it internally anyway
<robimarko> So, I am not sure if you gain anything
<robimarko> And mbedtls still doesnt use crypto extensions at all

<f00b4r0> hmm wtf. I used update_git_source_package.sh to update a package, did a local test build that succeeded, and now the CI on the update PR fails with "Package HASH check failed"
* f00b4r0 confused much
<robimarko> Your local tree has the APK version schema commit?
<f00b4r0> ah
* f00b4r0 checks
<f00b4r0> it does not
<robimarko> That could be your issue
<f00b4r0> thanks, I'll try again
<f00b4r0> Though this is confusing, does this mean that we have a change in tree that isn't backward compatible and breaks building older packages?
* f00b4r0 hasn't been paying enough attention lately
<robimarko> Well, it broke hashes
<robimarko> But I think all of them got fixed up in the root repo
<f00b4r0> MIRROR_HASH has changed now, i see
<f00b4r0> let's see if CI is happy now. robimarko thanks for the pointer

<mrkiko> Ansuel: does the VDSL drivers compile completey at your side?
rz has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<mrkiko> Ansuel: as I reported in the github issue, it is failing on the macros
<mrkiko> Ansuel: sorry, I was wrong - it is failing in this case due to a patch problem - patch can not find the file to patch even tough I started from a clean build env
<mrkiko> but even after fixing it, I think it would have issues with the handful of macros used
<Ansuel> mrkiko let me check the patch again
<Ansuel> mrkiko ok yes i pushed the wrong patch... now should be good
<mrkiko> Ansuel: testing
<mrkiko> Ansuel: thanks!!
<mrkiko> Ansuel: ok, VDSL running on 6.6
<Ansuel> still didn't understand if wifi works or not...
<Ansuel> did you restore the config?

<mrkiko> oh - btw I can confirm wi-fi works for ipq40xx - Iforgot I am using it on another site
<mrkiko> and I kept config with no issues
<Ansuel> ok
<Ansuel> i will merge ipq40xx and ipq806x then
