<chadmed> ahdeb[m]: what versions of pw and wp do you have installed
possiblemeatball has quit [Quit: Quit]
<chadmed> hm should be fine then. can you check for any errors
<ahdeb[m]> chadmed (IRC): I'm quite lost regarding pipewire and wireplumber, but I've been trying to poke around to spot anything but nothing.
<chadmed> is there some other package you need to install to get the lv2 plugin host portion of pipewire
<chadmed> ik debian likes to split things like this up
<ahdeb[m]> chadmed (IRC): I'm totally lost re lv2.... do you have a file/path that I'm supposed to have so I can search which package it's in?
<chadmed> check ${LIBDIR}/pipewire-0.3/libpipewire-module-filter-chain-lv2.so
<ahdeb[m]> libpipewire-0.3-modules is installed
<ahdeb[m]> installiing lsp-plugins meta-package would pull in: lsp-plugins-clap lsp-plugins-jack lsp-plugins-ladspa lsp-plugins-vst
<chadmed> hm ok i have no idea
<ahdeb[m]> thanks anyway
<chadmed> if you can set PWDEBUG and WPDEBUG to 3 and collect another log ill have a look
<chadmed> but nothing really looks wrong other than the fact that its not picking up the dsp config
<cy8aer> ahdeb[m]: which kernel do you use (debian version please)?
<ahdeb[m]> PIPEWIRE_DEBUG _> https://paste.debian.net/plainh/8f0ec219/
<ahdeb[m]> WIREPLUMBER_DEBUG -> https://paste.debian.net/plainh/0b9d3f60/
<ahdeb[m]> cy8aer (IRC): linux-image-6.6.0-asahi-00913-g4e615b7f7cae (from your repo)
<cy8aer> Ah, ok, then it should not be a problem of the kernel. But you are running debian stable with backport packages, right?
<ahdeb[m]> yes basically.
<chadmed> its loading the config but not finding the parent device
<chadmed> can do dump the output of pw-cli i all
<cy8aer> ok, that is a bit nifty because I am building for and with testing. And I must say - I was happy that it worked out of the box. Did you look into a graphical router like qjackctl if you can see "MacBook Pro J314" and are you able to connect it to the alsa sink then?
<chadmed> its interesting that the audio device does not have a node.name
<chadmed> can you go to /usr/share/pipewire/policy.lua.d/85-asahi.lua and set hide_parent = false for j314
<chadmed> then restart pw/wp and dump pw-cli i all again
<ahdeb[m]> should I already have /usr/share/pipewire/policy.lua.d/85-asahi.lua ?
<cy8aer> the file does not exist there.
<cy8aer> policy.lua.d neither
<chadmed> sorry its /usr/share/wireplumber/policy.lua.d/85-asahi-policy.lua
<ahdeb[m]> right... still not sure about the syntax.
<cy8aer> somewhere around line 78

<ahdeb[m]> (I was looking at the wrong file in main.lua.d)
<chadmed> huh still doesnt have a node associated with it
<chadmed> thats so odd
<chadmed> i honestly have absolutely no idea what could be going on
<ahdeb[m]> I should probably just try dist-upgrading to testing/unstable and see if the problem goes away... but would be nice to know the exact reason so I can tigthen dependencies where needed.
<cy8aer> ahdeb[m]: yes, I would like do know this too. If there is some package dependency with stable then you may not be the only one with problems
<cy8aer> Looks like Glanzmann has problems with sound too? He is just implementing sound with his setup on stable. But it takes a suprisingly long time.

<mps> question not related much to asahi but I wonder why this doesn't work M1 'ACTION=="add", SUBSYSTEM=="net", SUBSYSTEM=="usb", KERNEL=="eth0", RUN+="/sbin/ifup -f eth0"' in local udev rules
<mps> that is, when usb ethernet addapter is plugged in
