chadmed: did you figure out the kernel patch issues for asahi-kernel / asahi-sources? I could take a look tonight
<chadmed>
jannau: unfortunately no. asahi-sources is totally fine and applies cleanly so i pushed that, but it looks like asahi-kernel chokes up on the pmuv3 kvm test?
<chadmed>
i have no idea why, unless asahi-sources is also failing and unipatch just fails silently
<chadmed>
it's not related to genpatches though because the diff also fails when i comment out the genpatches
<jannau>
isn't it expected to fail without genpatches? I rebased at least 190-rust (and gpu, aop) on v6.13.5 due to conflicts git merge could not resolve
<jannau>
I would expect that it fails to apply on v6.13 but not on v6.13.5
<jannau>
I'll take a look tonight
<chadmed>
if that's the case let me try 6.13.5..asahi-6.13.5-4 now
<chadmed>
okay yep that works but now genpatches dont apply because they expect to be on top of the .0 release
<jannau>
the intended use is to apply genpatches first and then 6.13.5..asahi-6.13.5-4

<chadmed>
yeah i know, but genpatches fails on top of vanilla 6.13.5 because it tries to apply .1, .2, .3, .4 and .5 itself
<jannau>
yes, genpatches include stable tags/changes. the intended order is vanilla 6.13, genpatches to get to 6.13.5 and then 6.13.5..asahi-6.13.5-4
<jannau>
when going to asahi-6.13.7-3 the genpatches are updated to get to 6.13.7 and v6.13.7..asahi-6.13.7-3 is applied next

<chadmed>
yeah ofc. the issue is that 6.13.5..asahi-6.13.5-4 does not apply _after_ applying genpatches on top of vanilla 6.13

chadmed: genpatches 6.13-7 carries 1740_x86-insn-decoder-test-allow-longer-symbol-names.patch which is as e55df000d518 ("x86/insn_decoder_test: allow longer symbol-names") in asah-6.13.5-4. as additional step that has to be reverted after applying genpatches but before the asahi patches
<jannau>
I don't see why that wouldn't be an issue for asahi-sources. or don't we apply genpatches there anymore
chrisl has quit [Ping timeout: 480 seconds]
<chadmed>
unipatch is probably failing silently then
<chadmed>
ill generate a revert patch and sort it out tomorrow

Hey, anyone got mic working on debian and MacBook Air M2 13" (2022) ? I am using asahi-audio 3.1 and alsa-ucm-conf-asahi 7 packages and latest cy8aer kernel, but still no dice. Anything I am missing?
<j`ey>
I think theyre still disabled on purpose
<ashi>
oh, then I was mislead by the README.md of asahi-audio
<ashi>
So this is expected?
