havent booted into OSX since I installed asahi on my mbair ~3 months ago. any concerns running an software update? I'm guessing Id want to do so for firmware updates even if I dont use it?

Help! Bit of an odd one - I'm trying to enable system extensions on my MacBook Pro 16. This requires booting into recovery mode and use of the Startup Security Utility to enable kernel extensions. However, that utility doesn't show my MacOS partition, only the Asahi partition. Any ideas please? I'm guessing the Asahi partition is the default

somehow, and so is the one picked up by the utility? The utility does a scanning process though, so it's annoying it doesn't show both partitions to pick from.

In fact, Asahi seems to be the default, even after I shutdown from MacOS. I don't think it works like this on my other MacBook from memory (i.e. it remembers the last one used). I did have an issue during the Asahi installation, where the Startup Security Utility part kicked in at the wrong time and confused the Asahi installer, but it tried a

Might have cracked it - pressing option at the boot menu shows "always use" under the highlighted choice. Trying again from there...

That's done it, thanks. MacOS partition was shown this time, so I was able to enable kernel extensions.

So it seems I have lost the ability to "remember" which is the last OS booted, so I'll have to use recovery mode on every boot (or at least, every boot where I don't want to use the default OS), which is a bit of a pain if not a showstopper. Anybody any ideas as to what has happened please, and how I might fix that?

i dont think the last booted actually matters

it boots whatever is set by default, and you will have to go thru boot picker if you want to change it
