<Begasus> jmairboeck, build for texlive failed for me (with disabled doc packages), but I think I had a simular issue on my last run? https://bpa.st/IFEQ
<jmairboeck> it looks like a packageEntries invocation failed, so there is probably something wrong in subpackageInfos.sh
<jmairboeck> did you remove the full_doc subpackage as well?
<Begasus_32> https://bpa.st/NS4A
<Begasus> that's my createSupackagesInfo.pl atm
frkzoid has quit [Ping timeout: 480 seconds]
<jmairboeck> there is still a line containing @docfiles, and then you have to actually run the script to regenerate subpackageInfos.sh
<Begasus> bugger, missed that one
<jmairboeck> the create script is not directly used during the build, only to generate that file
<jmairboeck> or you can just ignore the script and edit subpackageInfos.sh manually
<jmairboeck> just remove anything with _doc
xet7 has joined #haiku
<jmairboeck> including the subpackages assignments
<Begasus> Cleaning the build atm, will take those comments into account
<Begasus> k, seems that supackagesInfo.sh contain quite a lot of those doc packages also
<jmairboeck> yes, that is the actual "recipe snippet" that is included in the main recipe
<Begasus> OK, discecting it would probably take some time (if it works at all)
<jmairboeck> just standard SUMMARY, REQUIRES and PROVIDES declarations, and filling the $subpackages array
tqh has joined #haiku
<jmairboeck> the createSubpackageInfos.pl script is just used to generate subpackageInfos.sh
<jmairboeck> it is not used by haikuporter, but must be run before
<jmairboeck> running it during the build is not possible, because the subpackages need to be available when the recipe is initially parsed
<Begasus> now I'm wondering if I would invest the time to do it :)
<Begasus> I'll do a build with defaults later today to see if things build OK, will get back to you on that one, then you could enable the recipe (if things are fine) and let someone at haikuports see if it can be merged
<jmairboeck> I'll create a PR for it
<Begasus> +1
<jmairboeck> PulkoMandy kind of asked for it anyway :)
<Begasus> yeah ;)
<Begasus> did you do a recent build on 64bit?

<Begasus> linked the issue also
HaikuUser2 has quit [Quit: Vision[]: i've been blurred!]
<jmairboeck> well, technically it doesn't fix the issue, it just enables the recipe as is. The original intention of the issue was to allow manual installation of tex packages so that we don't need to package everything. But to be honest, I see it similar to PulkoMandy, that using proper Haiku packages is nicer than using manually installed packages.
<Begasus> If anyone has some time it would be nice if someone could check if the latest (upcomming version) for scummvm builds (iirc last time I checked on 32bit it errored out)
<Begasus> I know from oscar that python packages can be installed like that
<Begasus> but it probably would mean a massive rewrite of the recipe(s)?
rennj has joined #haiku
<jmairboeck> yes, it would probably need some patching in texlive_core and the texlive recipe would probably change completely. I don't really know how that would work though.
<jmairboeck> On Linux, I also use only distribution packages for texlive
<rennj> someone else did the compile job for you
<rennj> why i like the pkgsrc you get binary or source port/pkg compile local.. all the bsd's offer source/port/recipe or binary
<rennj> but pkgsrc probably does better abstraction methods then say a gentoo/arch cause their shooting for 23 different os's
