(AGMS) Yay, I got Haiku working on my new MSI laptop. Of course the USB memory stick installation technique doesn't work (gets stuck with a bad semaphore). But I was able to boot the installer in VirtualBox, having it write to the real hard drive and do the installation that way. VERY round about!
<B2IA>
(AGMS) Then there was some fuss getting UEFI boot to work, but found a Haiku guide page that had instructions for adding it to GRUB and that went fairly well, though it would be nicer if Haiku UEFI was recognised by the BIOS directly.

(AGMS) In case you're wondering, it's an "GF63 Thin 10SCXR" which has a 10th generation Intel i% 10500H (6 cores), Intel and nVidia video hardware (nVidia side unused), audio worked, ethernet cable worked, NVME solid state hard drive worked, USB mouse worked.

AGMS: nice :-) I had to resort to that VBox -> real HDD in the past (for lack of spare USB drives :-D)

How does one adds a screenshot for a Haikuports package?

nyanpasu64: looks like a relatively simple bug if my guess is correct. I will investigate tomorrow and hopefully fix it

augiedoggie: Hello, and thanks again for the PR review! Quick question... should I "git push -f ne-3.3.2"... or just add a new commit addressing your findings?
<OscarL>
(i mean... should I ammend the original commit and do a forced push, or just a follow up commit, not sure about whats the preffered way)
<augiedoggie>
either way, if it's multiple commits they'll be squashed when it gets merged
<augiedoggie>
most people just push more commits instead of forcing
<OscarL>
I see, thanks!
<augiedoggie>
OscarL: just curious, I see devel:libncurses in the BUILD_REQUIRES but no lib:libncurses in the REQUIRES
<augiedoggie>
does it link libncurses?
* augiedoggie
heads off to bed
<OscarL>
I believe it only requires it on build due to the termcap/terminfo database.
<augiedoggie>
mmkay
<OscarL>
with the flags that it is build.... it does not links to curses nor ncurses.
<OscarL>
(has its own code, but needs the database at build time)
<OscarL>
The "NE_ANSI=1 NE_TERMCAP=1" make it not depend on other libraries.
