Does anyone knows why TextSearch monitors attribute changes? I understand it monitoring STAT chages, or added/removed files... but I can't see the use case of caring about attribute changes...
<OscarL>
and it drives me nuts, because Pe triggers those after you close any file you double clicked on TextSearch... causing it to change the focus from the results to the search field.
<OscarL>
I locally removed that B_ATTR_CHANGED monitoring, and find TextSearch much more comfortable... but... before I submit a change for review... I thought of asking.... what am I missing?
<OscarL>
LOL... the Tracker addon "Mark as..." appears blinking at the end, when you use the BootMenu option to disable system components at book :-D
<OscarL>
Mmm, aparently B_STAT_CHANGED gets called even if I just open and close the files with Pe... quite annoying. I would like for the TextSearch GUI only to change if the content of the file changes, not it's attributes or other metadata.

Apparently, I can just make it stop reacting to B_STAT_CHANGED, if B_STAT_CHANGE_TIME is the only flag set. (along side making it not react to B_ATTR_CHANGED)... we'll se how many changesets will take me to get this merged :-D

I'm trying some small changes in the crash report files (adding the arguments of the program that crashed). Now I'm wondering what's the fastest way to test changes on such components... other than building a whole image...

... As the changes are in src/kits/debugger/... I just did "jam -j4 Debugger", and now I wonder where, to place the resulting binaries so I'm sure the ones I build get called instead of the system ones.

finds it funny that the ONE TIME he *wants* the Debugger to come up... he has problems to do so. It is usually the other way around :-D

OscarL: Can't await Beta4 of Haiku OS.
<OscarL>
Abhoerschutz: it will be ready "Real Soon Now" (tm)....
<OscarL>
as in good BeOS tradition :-P
<Abhoerschutz>
OscarL: Okay, great.
<OscarL>
But seriously... it feels closer now :-)
<OscarL>
I was finally able to test my libdebugger.so modifications. I just had to place the .so inside a "Lib" dir in the same directory where I keep the Debugger app. Nice. (being smarter and have better memory for these things would be nicer :-D)
