<nbd> kmemleak?
<f00b4r0> nbd: I can try although seeing how slab debug already brings this device to its knees, I'm not very hopeful
<f00b4r0> nbd: high suspicion on the wifi subsystem: the leak started when the first wifi client connected this morning on 2.4 radio

<stintel> woooo! successfully updated the firmware of an eve energy on my thread network with OpenWrt border router! it failed before because I firewalled it too restrictively. which is exactly the reason I want this on a device with proper firewalling abilities.
<stintel> anyone here using net-snmp on their devices wanna have a quick look at https://github.com/openwrt/packages/pull/26216 so I'm not the only reviewer ?

<soxrok2212> Ansuel: this w1700k has 2x 1g and 2x10g. i see the 10g PHYs on the MDIO bus, but I can't seem to reach the 10g PHYs. an7581.dtsi has the mdio bus inside the switch, but the 10g PHYs shouldnt be on that switch. https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/devicetree/bindings/net/airoha%2Cen7581-eth.yaml doesnt have mdio... any tips?

<soxrok2212> merbanan: do you have any thoughts?
<merbanan> soxrok2212: sorry to say it but the 10g phys are on the switch mdio bus
<soxrok2212> is that not strange>
<soxrok2212> or unusual
<merbanan> you need to enable the mdio pin mux to enable the external mdio pins
<merbanan> then you need to reset the phys via the gpio pins
<merbanan> after that the 10g phys should appear on the mdio bus
<merbanan> use the mdio command to test
<soxrok2212> they already do appear
<soxrok2212> 0x05 0x0000caf3 down
<soxrok2212> 0x08 0x0000caf3 down
<soxrok2212> driver is in /sys/bus/mdio_bus/drivers
<merbanan> goodie you are all good then
<soxrok2212> yeah but the driver never picks them up
<soxrok2212> maybe my resets are not right
n3ph has joined #openwrt-devel
<soxrok2212> merbanan: they shouldn't be on a switch port though, right? since theyre not part of internal switch

<merbanan> you mean dts wise ?
<merbanan> dts should reflect hardware
<merbanan> the phys should be on the switch mdio bus
<soxrok2212> dts-wise, yeah
<soxrok2212> i havent have my eureka moment yet
<merbanan> and the phy nodes should be linked from the mac nodes
<f00b4r0> nbd: dunno if that's any help but there's a fair number of old alloc_traces by hostapd, some with traces in the mac80211 space. Hopefully I will be able to flash a kmemleak enabled kerrnel on that device tonight
<f00b4r0> in skbuff_head_cache there's also several old allocs by napi/phy1-9 (itself with mt76 pointers in the trace) which incidentally did come up in kmemleak report on another similar device where I enabled kmemleak
<merbanan> the phy/mac connection should be on the gdmX nodes
<merbanan> that is how the hardware is connected

<merbanan> };
<merbanan> };
<merbanan> phy-mode usxgmii and speed 10000, something like that
<soxrok2212> ok so theres still a lot of driver stuff missing
<soxrok2212> pcs driver
<merbanan> yeah, but dts should like something like that and good that the phys are visible
<merbanan> now we just need proper realtek drivers also
<soxrok2212> the driver exists, though it is out of tree from realtek

<merbanan> you should add the lan port phys if they are not present
<merbanan> er, the switch port phys
<soxrok2212> there are only 2 switch ports on this device, mdio 9 and 10. i disable 11 and 12 intentionally from the dtsi

<merbanan> did you hook up the port leds ?
<soxrok2212> theyre hooked up, but i must have the wrong gpios since they dont work right now
n3ph has joined #openwrt-devel
<merbanan> soxrok2212: gpio 33,34,43,44 are used I guess
<merbanan> if you remove the pinmux you can export the gpios and test
<merbanan> but the phys doesnt have a driver yet
<merbanan> so there is nothing configuring the led settings
<soxrok2212> those are what i have set
<merbanan> then they are missing conf
<soxrok2212> which driver are you referring to? its pretty much just an mt7530 stuck in there
<soxrok2212> or are you referring to the 10g phys
<merbanan> an7581 needs drivers for the builtin mt7530 switch phys
<merbanan> on mdio address 9 and 10
<soxrok2212> oh, of course ha
<merbanan> that part is led handling and is the same for an7581 mt7530 phys
<merbanan> I have a half working driver waiting
