orowith2os: a client by default using xdg-shell alone is meant to self-decorate. that is how wayland was designed. xdg-decoration is an extension that allows clients to optionally move that responsibility to the compositor. if a client doesn't do any actaual self decoration, it just means from a semantical point of view, no decorations is what they intend to be the case
