ugh bad memory, the clicking is still there, on clover kernel on arch 6.6
<jhovold>
enyalios: nice to hear you got audio to work
<jhovold>
i'm pretty sure i had sound with just alsa here at some point, but it seems something changed along the way and no it no longer works here, at least not without some manual configuration or similar
<jhovold>
works fine with pulseaudio
<jhovold>
craftyguy: the asoc fixes in my 6.6 branch (now merged for 6.7-rc1 as broonie mentioned) should address the pops (and loud crackling noise) when starting and stopping a stream
<jhovold>
i still hear a click sound when stopping pulseaudio (e.g. on reboot) but that's it here
<jhovold>
nowhere near as scary as the crackling noise on start, but perhaps that can still be triggered somehow

jhovold: ya so I am using your 6.6 branch and still hearing a loud pop on starting pa, with crackling. i'm also using a alsa-ucm patch (that will be in the next ucm release). I must be missing something else...

craftyguy: hmm. i don't think the alsa state should impact this but I did have to stop the alsa-restore systemd service before removing it (or else it is stored again on reboot)
