I'm curious, does anyone know if the USB controllers on trogdor can be used in peripheral/device/gadget mode, rather than just host mode? I tried setting the vboot flag for "ENABLE_UDC" (USB device controller), but it didn't actually seem to change anything.
<DanaG>
I'm considering trying a Debian image again, because alpine can't use box64. But the Debian image's kernel didn't seem to have working wifi.

is there any way to set the start/stop charging thresholds for the x13s? I've heard TLP works for older thinkpads, but I'm not sure the x13s has this even on Windows

steev: Under 6.5.x sound works without further ado on the x13s. Under 6.6.x I only ever get the dummy device. Could it be that either the paths have changed, or that the firmware has changed and is now called something else?
<krzk>
agl: yes, either paths or file extension
<Jasper[m]>
I ran unixbench and coremark on the x13s as a bit of a joke, the results are unsurprisingly good
<Jasper[m]>
20658 on unixbench, 184236 on coremark (both multithreaded)
<jhovold>
agl: you need a recent linux-firmware or you can add the following link yourself
<_[m]1>
iis there a way to search through all irc history log?
<Jasper[m]>
_[m]1: Of this channel? Grab the link above and pick the search bar on the left of the page.
<_[m]1>
but it only searches in 1 day?
<_[m]1>
OOOH ok, that one, NICE
<_[m]1>
* one, NICE thanks ❤️
<Jasper[m]>
Top one only filters the page you're on :p

Hmm why do I only have audioreach-tplg.bin.xz ?
<neobrain>
(I guess I can just un-xz it, just curious)
<neobrain>
Looks like that was the wrong thing to mess around with, since I'm back to my good old "Exiting boot services" hang now
<neobrain>
huh, but kernel 6.5 still boots, weird
<neobrain>
Even better yet, I ran an innocent-looking system update that crashed the entire system and left me with an unusable grub configuration. Guess I'll have to start from scratch :(

you're trying opensuse right?
<agl>
jhovold: Johan, the symbolic link works! Thank You!
<agl>
jhovold: I was on the road and could only try it out now.
<agl>
jhovold: Where can I get the aktual firmware?
<agl>
.... for the ThinkPad X13s
<agl>
Under Debian I have not updated the firmware for a longer time.
<clover[m]>
pushed 6.6.2 for my arch/eos users. looks like eos got some new theming too
<steev>
on debian, the firmware packages should be firmware-qcom-soc, though i don't believe debian's package has been updated to the 20231111 release yet

_[m]1: Yeah, opensuse. I had it working fine before, other than missing sound
<neobrain>
Phew, managed to recover from that one. I could boot by pointing grub's prefix/root variables to the right grub.cfg, then forcing a re-write of the grub config fixed it properly
<agl>
steev: On debian ist the last release under Debian/Unstable from 202305xx. Where can I get the firmware-qcom-soc release 20231111? At github.com/... ?
<agl>
tar archive or deb package
<steev>
there is no deb package yet. you have to wait, or clone the git repo yourself, the linux-firmware git repository

steev: Sorry, under which name is the linux-firmware git repository uner github.com?
<agl>
*under
<steev>
not on github, it's on git.kernel.org but if you already have the symlink, you don't need to do anything
<agl>
ok
<agl>
Thank you steev
<neobrain>
So on my end (i.e. with opensuse), I'm not seeing any sound device at all, and dmesg has a few lines mentioning "qcom-soundwire" but nothing "ASoC" related
<neobrain>
I'm guessing all of this depends heavily on the versions of various packages throughout the system, so maybe I'm best off just waiting for another couple of system updates
<broonie>
neobrain: That's audio related (very little audio logging will actually mention ASoC, usually it's the relevant devices).
<neobrain>
The 3 soundwire messages all only say "Qualcom Soundwire controller v1.6.0 Registered"
