hmm, so, i attempted to test out 6.6.0 on the c630
<steev>
adding in qseecom causes some sort of badness, i'm wondering if we actually do need to delete the qseecom_mem and re-set it in the c630 like others do
<clover[m]>
getting segfaults when running brave now :(
<moria>
clover[m]: Is your linux-x13s now version 6.6?
<clover[m]>
6.6.0 yeah
<moria>
does it work or have it problems?
<moria>
you mean brave have a segfault
<moria>
clover[m]: ?
<clover[m]>
yeah im just complaining about a brave issue, i dont think this has to do with the kernel heh
<moria>
ok, I'am in the clubhouse. When I get back to home I will try your new kernel unter EndeavourOS.
<clover[m]>
cool

clover[m]: At this Moment I run Debian (with steev's kernel 6.6) on my x13s and I'am logged in over VPN (Wireguard) from the clubhaus to my Computers at home over the Internet.
<moria>
works fine
<jiku>
so wassap

calebccff: have you played with 6.6+ on your c630? i think it's you that has the serial output; i haven't looked at pmOS to see if they have a 6.6 branch and if they do what they've done for sdm845/850, but here, i get 0 no audio output on 6.6.0, and if i try to enable qseecom on it, i just get rcu stalls; i tried doing earlycon=efifb video=efifb and still can't tell what is going boom -

i also should probably really send the wakeup source patch for keyboard/touchpad because the number of times i forget that they won't do a wakeup and think the c630 is frozen is too damn high

it would be nice if someone could fix the ath10k timeout during reboot as well...it annoys me every time i pick up the c630
<steev>
there's something more to that now iirc
<steev>
i remember seeing a splat
<bamse>
every single reboot (perhaps not if i don't have the interface up?)
<steev>
that's where i saw the splat, but now i don't have the log anymore
<bamse>
konradybcio: don't we have this problem on other ath10k devices too? (reboot with wifi enabled causes a splat in the log)
<bamse>
steev: yeah...and looking at the splat i bet ret is -ETIMEDOUT here
<steev>
i do always see the failed to remove key from hardware thing
<bamse>
same here
<steev>
calebccff: fwiw, with 6.6.0 on the c630 i always see an underflow on wcd934x-soundwire.5.auto
<bamse>
that said, the warn is just annoying...what actually bothers me is that it blocks power down/reboot for like a minute
<steev>
i haven't had that happen yet
<calebccff>
bamse: i see the ath10k splat on SHIFT6mq as well, only when using systemd though
<calebccff>
well, i assume it's the same one, don't think i checked

<bamse>
calebccff: yeah, the "hang" is systemd waiting for wpa_supplicant and networkmanager to shut down
<bamse>
steev: are we expected to have audio out of the box on c630 these days?
<steev>
on 6.3 yes, on 6.6 no
<calebccff>
bamse: pipewire defaults to a bitrate that sdm845 seems to hate, and without manually tweaking the buffer size and some other things you get clicks and stuff
<bamse>
so plain upstream alsa-ucm-conf and 6.3 works, but moving to 6.6 not so muc?
<bamse>
+h
<steev>
and the minor change that caleb mentions (it's wireplumber that needs the tweak)
<bamse>
well, i'm still on pulseaudio...because that was the latest thing when i had audio last time

yah 24-bit seems to just not work ig
<steev>
https://paste.debian.net/hidden/04a4680d/ is my dmesg from 6.6.0 with defconfig and a few other misc bits and bobs (things like zram, fscrypt stuff, something else)
<bamse>
seeing the "prepare clock stop failed -5" made me expect that something isn't working as it shoul
<bamse>
d
<steev>
yeah, it doesn't :)
<steev>
it seems like soundwire has an underflow or something and that breaks it
<bamse>
underflows in that part of the process is generally not a good thing
<steev>
no... bamse original submission had... edp? support too, but lumag's submission drops it
<bamse>
dp
<calebccff>
oh yeah i dropped that because i have no idea what's going on with dp stuff, I leave that to the experts ;P
<steev>
I wanna see if we can get that going again now that I THINK it has settled down into what lumag wanted to be settled down
<steev>
Last time I had tried it, it ends up with no internal display
<calebccff>
sounds promising
<steev>
Oh, there’s one other thing in the dmesg output for the c630, something about missing lane count
<bamse>
the patches i rebased has the dp connection...let me see what happens if i connect my monitor
<steev>
If you rebased and it booted and still has internal display that’s further than I got

works like a charm, tv even claims it's operating at 4k
<calebccff>
\o/ oh damn
<bamse>
well, i have the same graphical artifact along the right edge as bryanodonoghue reports on x13s
<bamse>
and it only works on the right usb connector
<steev>
better than the current 0 usb connectors :P

bamse the atheros driver splats when you look at it sideways :P

ath12k for example panics when you close the display manager or reboot

or at least it used to some time ago

bamse: with the patches applied can you suspend and resume from suspend?
<steev>
iirc that was another stickler
<bamse>
steev: nope
<bamse>
so that works in stock v6.6?
<steev>
keep in mind you have to open/close to use the lid switch, if you're just locking/suspending since i slacked off and never pushed my patch to the list :P
<steev>
yeah it does here
<bamse>
that used to work...
<steev>
i think it comes back, but display doesn't
<steev>
on your end, here i am able to suspend and wake
