the most puzzling thing for me _jannau__has been the fact that seeing entries in /var/log/pacman.log, other time stamps for other applications are all correct and i see a good distribution from Aug 02 - August 04. So it seems the rest of the system seemed to be getting the time correct but `journalctl -b` got it wrong

sid-linux: the RTC came in late, that means the original time was probably BS

it sounds like you had one BS time, then timesyncd constructed another BS time it thinks is less BS, then finally the RTC showed up and set the right time

the Aug 2 time probably came from some early boot time thing / fallback stuff

by then it was already Aug 4 so it's not like your files would have the wrong times

As you all are/were talking about the clock, my m1 mini's rtc clock has gained about 39 seconds since July 12th. Anybody else experiancing that? I noticed the clock difference in april or may and set a hwclock sync in cron
