<loki666> jernej: a crazy guy soldered a 4GB chip in place of the 1GB... and it was detected properly ...
<jernej> loki666: why not? :)
<jernej> although I'm surprised that it still works
<jernej> why not? <- for size detection
<jernej> surprised -> DRAM parameters still compatible
<loki666> indeed
<loki666> that was also my reaction
<loki666> and iommu has also issues with 4GB no ?
<jernej> oh, I don't know
<jernej> apritzel: regarding 4GB iommu - BSP driver has simple but effective hack - if address is below SDRAM base when it's retrieved, bit 32 is set. This should work in all cases.
<jernej> loki666: I plan to introduce that DRAM code improvement for A523 upstreaming. Alternatively, I can do that, and also take a look at 1.5 and 3 GB auto detection, since it's just checking one or two locations.
<jernej> as standalone series I mean

<loki666> jernej: won't be able to test that, not crazy enough to replace a dram chipset
<loki666> or you are talking about u-boot dram detection

<jernej> ah, about dram size detection
