<enyalios> HdkR: im still seeing bug #3611 in fex-emu
<enyalios> i redownloaded fex from git, compiled and installed it, redownloaded a new rootfs, redownloaded steam
<enyalios> still seeing the exact same crash
<HdkR> enyalios: hmmm. Did you binfmt_misc install as well? Maybe it's executing old FEX because of POCF flags
<HdkR> Alternatively, reboot and the kernel will pick up the new FEX to cache in that instance
<enyalios> oh i missed those steps, trying that now
<enyalios> does `sudo ninja uninstall` not remove the old handlers?
<enyalios> did `sudo ninja binfmt_misc_32; sudo ninja binfmt_misc_64`, restarted steam, same crash
<HdkR> I guess an uninstall does remove the handlers
<enyalios> let me know if theres anything else i can do or put in the issue
<HdkR> I'll need to retest on X13s. Really feels like a vaapi interaction problem

<HdkR> (Like if Steam had a native arm64 client this would still occur sort of bug)
<enyalios> it sure would be nice if they did
<HdkR> For running a grand total of zero games.

<Jasper[m]> <enyalios> "i only need to stream them, so..." <- Has anyone ever tried converting the Raspbian Steam Link deb into something useful?
<Jasper[m]> I've asked this before, I think, but I can't remember what the answet was
<steev> convert it in what way
<Jasper[m]> steev: Install outright or extract the binary and maybe swap some libraries around if needed
<steev> go for it :)
<travmurav[m]> iirc the old 32bit one was heavily tied into videocore stuff, not sure if they have a new one that uses v4l2
<Jasper[m]> steev: I mean I personally have no use for it, but I can imagine emulating the full client for the same function is a bit suboptimal
<Jasper[m]> travmurav[m]: Ah
<steev> i also don't have a use for it :D
<travmurav[m]> but moonlight seems to use v4l2 nicely on qcom
<jenneron[m]> <Jasper[m]> "I mean I personally have no..." <- we have moonlight for this
<jenneron[m]> which supports v4l2m2m

<Stirl[m]> I haven't been in here in awhile. How are things moving along? is there a lot of hope for these new snapdragon chips? I saw some vague stories about qcom helping with linux compatibility but not a lot of real info
<HdkR> isn't very vague
<HdkR> Will need someone to write device trees for the retail products still once they launch
<HdkR> and still missing features as detailed in that blog post
<Stirl[m]> I hadn't seen the actual blog post! Good to see that there is serious consideration on this front

<craftyguy> I tried booting to EL2 using the latest slbounce + jhovold's 6.10-rc1, and it looks like nvme fails (it worked on 6.9): https://bpa.st/raw/BH5Q
<craftyguy> According to dmesg,something in iommu/io-pgtable-arm.c:arm_lpae_map exploded

<bamse> HdkR: https://lore.kernel.org/linux-arm-msm/CAD=FV=UhrCKCv5R-LAAugrLXFp=cDcj2=Pp9-N3qk5pk2=sGEg@mail.gmail.com/ <- please remind me, does this look similar to the usb issues you had on x13s?
<HdkR> uh, I don't remember now since I don't have that 5gbit USB device plugged in to it now
<bamse> HdkR: no worries, figured it was worth a ping
<HdkR> I could probably plug it in and watch it explode as my Steam library updates
<bamse> HdkR: it would certainly be interesting to see if it's something similar
