<steev> craftyguy: if you really wanna test if it's working, i think it's currently mapped to kernel panic :D
<steev> unless that's a different led
<craftyguy> ha, no, I don't need any more excitement at the moment
<travmurav[m]> IR led sounds different from "camera on" led xD
<steev> i just assumed he meant camera on :)

<\[m]> I've updated the firmware seems through windows - there were 4 updates in windows update and 1 in lenovo thing
<\[m]> has anyone else had rtl firmware load issues?
<travmurav[m]> LANG=C errno 2
<travmurav[m]> ENOENT 2 No such file or directory
<travmurav[m]> probably just missing some firmware package?
<travmurav[m]> though mine skips firmware loading completely

<Jasper[m]> There's also a fedora copr link lower in the thread if you want
<\[m]> > though mine skips firmware loading completely
<\[m]> it's wanted ?
<\[m]> I put the windows fw
<\[m]> maybe wrong location

<konradybcio> craftyguy: if we pump too much current through the IRLED, it may simply blow up
<konradybcio> or if the user stares into it and too much power is there..

<Jasper[m]> Would be funny if you could light things on fire with that
<Jasper[m]> But I'm sure the fcc wouldn't enjoy that
<abby> fcc doesn't regulate light
<abby> > 300GHz, they say not our problem
<abby> (no really, FDA regulates lasers)

<\[m]> <Jasper[m]> "https://mastodon.social/@hughsie..."; <- sigh debian is blokcing installing python package through apt now
<\[m]> so you need to create a venv first to install a venv basically lol
<\[m]> I guess it's actually a sane default 🙂
<abby> yes, it's the only sane way
<abby> as installing anything globally/user-globally with pip will pollute python's lookup path and potentially break python applications
<abby> gentoo, debian, fedora, ubuntu, and void do it in my memory
<\[m]> doesn't find gnutls 🤷

<steev> kali does too :) but that's because we're based on debian testing
<steev> and yes, the sheer number of bugs we've had people "report" where the path is poisoned is too damn high, but it has been nice that so many have been cut down
<abby> yeah we@void have had some people complain about having to make a venv, but it's better than having to debug wacky issues with python programs
<Jasper[m]> <abby> "(no really, FDA regulates lasers..." <- Aha, I do not have my American regulatory instances in order

<Dantheman825[m]> the touchscreen on my X13s seems to not work anymore on Jhovold's 6.9.0-rc7 branch, has anyone else experienced this, or is there something wrong with my kernel config?
<steev> works here
<Dantheman825[m]> something must off with my config, I tend to use your laptop_defconfig on Jhovold's kernels (only change I make is adding CONFIG_FW_LOADER_COMPRESS_ZSTD)
<steev> i haven't tried the laptop defconfig with 6.9 yet at all
<steev> i'd be checking dmesg output
<steev> oh, unless it's missing the elan driver maybe?
